Very good idea, and it is also for a very good cause :)

And if the April 20th thing actually happens and goes to plan it will be talked about for weeks.

I really hope this succeeds.

I fully support the aims and actions of Joesph Kony and his LRA supporters

Very moving and powerful video. Growing at a ridiculous rate as well.
In the last 10 mins, watching the amount of people join that Facebook group, 7000 people have liked it.

It's amazing what Facebook can do... I can't believe I haven't heard of this guy before. Shocking stuff.

The guy behind this whole movement is a genius. Least we can do is repost his video after his 8 hard years of work.

Lets hope 2012 is the year :thumbsu:

Also his kid is cute as shit!
No, he's an egotist.

It's ironic, though. People who hate Australia or the US in Afghanistan or Iraq are obviously supporting this. Yet military deployment to bring down Kony will only result in more warfare – and thus, more collateral damage.

Double standards.

It's very unfortunate. But this all seems like a pissweak attempt to do something sincere. It's pack mentality. I see this whole campaign as just boring and not really sincere.

Yeah, way better to just cheat on your girlfriend.....that's sincerity at its finest.

I'm not going to watch the video as it is too long. But this guy does sound bad. However, I'm sure he is not the only one. There are always evil people out there somewhere.

Weird I have never heard of him before.

While you're obviously entitled to your opinion, I can't understand your thinking behind this.

How is he an egotist? In the video, he mentions his name once. I can't remember it, and im sure the majority of people who watched it can't. The thing that is brought across strongly is the cause that he, and many others are fighting for.

The only way something like this would work is through pack mentality. As mentioned in the video, the US wouldn't go to a country like Uganda and involve itself in something unless there is outcry from their countrymen, or reason to do so. Pack mentality can accomplish that.

Also, how can you question the sincerity of something like this? The creator of the video has himself spent at least 8 years working on it. I don't think someone/groups of people would put that much effort into something if they weren't sincere about it.

Not having a go, just really don't see how you have come to this sort of conclusion.

I keep reading about "Kony 2012" in YouTube comments. This is annoying since I can't be stuffed watching the video to see what's going on.

30 minute youtube vid? srs? Will send shirtless photo's for cliffs on the vid.

Judging from it being pasted all over my facebook it's just more slacktivism. People are happy to click 'share' on the vid but won't be bothered to do much more. Like when girls were posting the colour of their bra to raise awareness for breast cancer L:OL

Much better to just sit on your arse and take potshots at someone trying to make a little difference.
Sorry for your boredom.

Quite amazing, watched it earlier and the subsequent facebook reaction.

All I'll comment on the matter is that Orwell would have loved this as material. I support the support, but until human nature changes, this won't.

Keep an eye on what the Libyan Rebels do, that'll indicate a lot about the possible future of movements like these, despite the fact they in theory only loosely relate.

I wil be attending the rally though, its all for a good cause in theory.

Typical.

He's explained a legitimate point that this will lead to warfare upon warfare. America invade Uganda, and with troops deployed in Libya, Iraq (the few left), Afghanistan etc., what if another country has a pop at America? Iran, for example, rising conflict with the West, might take a chance. I admire the organiser, but this issue is again bigger than what it looks like.

Another bandwagon people will jump on that will be forgotten in six months.

Why should all the other acts of indecency be neglected and not thrust into the public spotlight?

I agree that a lot of people will have forgotten about this in some months time, but even if 20 people take a very active stance, and try and do something about it, and end up playing some sort of role in aiding the cause, wouldn't that deem it effective?

The means of how things are done aren't what matters, it's the end result.
