Got enough of the ball, but as Bomber said after the match, so did his opponent. Sounded as if his disposal was sloppy. Is no guarantee to retain his spot

Deserves another shot, IMO.

11 kicks, 3 handballs for a total of 14 disposals. Also 6 marks, 3 tackles, and 2 frees against.

He did pretty well I thought, almost doubling his career stats and contributing in some pretty big ways, though his accuracy seemed to fail in the second half.

He only played about half the match from what I could gather, and ended up the Cats' 12th for disposals.

I would be disappointed not to see him retained, especially as there may well be a couple of players forced out through injury which leaves room for Enright and/or Spriggs.

Bomber commended David Johnson on a good game in the same interview he talked down the performance of Koula/Callan/Byrnes. I only heard the game but to me DJ didn't play that good of a game? mixing him up with SJ maybe?

Looked abit nervous, but didnt do that badly in his first game. Can only improve which is a good sign considering he has barely played any AFL footy.

You know Bomber and his lovechild, he'll do anything to talk him up.

But on a serious note, DJ wasn't all that bad today. He was quite solid and I'd like to think he'd be a good chance of retaining his spot when we face off against the Saints next round.

The stats'll show that Campo has about 17 kicks, but how many of those were from kicking in to himself after a point? Camporeale is a cheap stat chaser. He'll always accumulate a respectable-looking lot of touches, but if you mind him he'll do diddly-squat with them. I reckon DJohnno did a fair job.

Are you his girlfriend?

Because you've now gone from a Port supporter to a Geelong one......and that's pretty gay.

If I was his girlfriend and I was gay I wouldn't be a girl.

Does that answer your question? :p

How much improvement is left in him? So far Im still left cold by him as a player in our structure. To me him looks like a Ling type without the ticker, a Moloney type without the long, clean dispossal, a Bartel type without any marking and play reading
Its early but he might still be under pressure at the end of the year , the Cats will have at least 3 picks in the NatDraft plus Cool Shannon will have to be upgraded , means at least 4 delistings.

Its early days but he needs to show something that he can contribute to our senior mix.He might have a strong looking body but can he use it, Guerra like. If he could hip and shoulder DelSanto out of Sundays game suddenly he might just have something to contribute. If he could grab the ball run thru a pack and kick a goal or even runwith sombody and blanket them, doesnt matter excactly what but as a great man once said "Just DO SOMETHING"
I think Koola has to "Just DO SOMETHING - different" to secure his place

Just thinking about that.

Foster, Slade, Spriggs and McCarthy should all be cleared out at the seasons end. Given our need for four draft picks, we'll probably try and pick up some draft picks for Spriggs and MCarthy. Wouldn't be surprised if one of Loats or Chambers goes as well, if the club thinks that Mark Blake is coming along nicely. And if one of Benny, Riccardi or Sanderson retires (although I suspect none will), then there will be another spot.

Koulouriotis will probably survive the chop, but will be one of a group of players who have to show something next year, along with types like Thurley, if they are to have any long term future.
