So did Carey, and look what happened.

Kouta has been an ornament to the game over a long time and is a good guy to match as well.As an opposition supporter I have enjoyed watching him play.Pity there's not a lot more like him. Here's hoping he plays next season too.

A Carlton champion, but I can't see him going on. Time he gave it up - been a great servant of the club and it'll be sad to see him go, but better for him to retire on a good night rather than being remembered for going on for too long.

Point taken. The exact way I felt about Rohan Smith when he retired.

Spot on. Watching Kouta in the NAB cup, i was thinking that perhaps he was keeping a young player out of the side. I'm not sure he is in the Blues best 22 any longer. Perhaps he could have been an impact player up forward coming off the bench, but he doesn't really take marks like he used to. And he would get in the way of Fisher, Fev, Kennedy and Lance. Fresher, younger legs would be the way to go.
Great player, but perhaps should have retired at the same time as Rohan. I know he was very close to doing it. I think only his leadership around the club, not on the ground was what the Blues were desperately needing from him.
