the only one from last year's best 22... cookie

webster and thornton are fringe players when fit, so technically, while they are "unavailable", it is likely that they wouldn't have played anyway.

by all accounts Dessie should pull up fine, so we will be pretty much near full strength.

only 9 more sleeps!!

Don't necessarily disagree kenny - that's why I said it was "likely" that they wouldn't play. But who would go out for them?

There are plenty of guys busting down the doors of the "best 22" - what are your thoughts on who would miss out if Webster and Thornton were available?

Grover might be one... - but I love his speed and long kicking out of defense. Who else? I don't know.

I think they would get games ahead of the young guys like Dunn, Browne, Edgecumbe.... not sure. But I think the coaching staff are a big fan of both hence both played in the 2nd derby and EF last year. Who knows. You're right though, anyone of about 6 players could fil our 21st and 22nd spots.

Kouta may be out but really nothing should be taken for granted.
Round 1 is the surprise round , the round for upsets - Freamntle aint immune . Round 1 is probably the most important fixture on the calender besides finals.

I agree ! You cant afford to take anyone for granted. Carlton needs to be treated ruthlessly and ground seriously into the grass.
