Noice - memories of the Koutaman in full flight from 1995 to 2000 came flooding back....The one handed pickups, huge pack marks and the shaved undercut. When at his best, the most dominating player I have ever seen!

Brilliant.

One of the all time Carlton greats. A humble champion and a great bloke. Not many players could re-invent themselves like he has after such horrific knee injuries and come back to win a B & F and play consistant footy week in week out.

The game has never seen such a dominant player than Kouta at his peak in 1999-2001. The great Stephen Kernahan descibed his 2000 season as the best individual season of football he had ever seen. Enough said.

In particular in match against the reigning premier North Melbourne that year was unbelievable. He single handedly took apart the best team in the league and made the likes of Carey, Archer and Simpson look second rate. His Sydney & Geelong games were unbelievable. I remember standing in the outer during the Sydney game and seeing their supporters just shake their head in amazement as he ran rings around the Swans players.

In his prime, he was better than Chris Judd.

In fact, at his best, was one of the best I've ever seen. It's how he used the ball, how he won it, that made my spine shiver and filled me with awe. A shame he wasn't as consistent as some other greats, and that injury cut him down at his prime, but hell...

... I'm happy I was alive to see him play at his peak. He was that good.

He certainly was very good.

It is sad that injuries held him back, otherwise he may well have been one of the greatest at our club.

I have no doubt though, that we will all recall with great fondness, the times of KOOOUUTTTAAAA!!!!!

It's been an honour to watch him, even on Dancing with the Stars, you could see how much he loved this club of ours. Sometimes, what kind of person you are is more important that what you have done, and he really is a champion of this club.

Round 22 vs. Melbourne needs to be a sea of Navy Blue. Send off this guy in true blue style.
