Lynch had 24 disposals to Kreuzer's 13, a team high 7 inside 50's and a team high 6 clearances. Kreuze was good but his undersized opponent was better.

The best of our #1 picks IMO

Without his bullocking/roving/persistence when the ball hit the deck today we would have been in deep trouble.

Agreed, he was immense getting to the contests etc. I just think he was entitled to nullify Lynch's influence on the game more given the size/class advantage, and that Lynch was virtually rucking solo.

Very good point.

Remember his return game against Sydney a couple years ago? He was immense. Though I daresay 2013 will be his best year.

i was disappointed he wasnt left in the ruck in the third quarter. Lynch played 90% + in the ruck hence why he had better stats, Rowe and Casboult rucked a fair bit.

A very insightful comment - no doubt about it. Just one question - how many of Lynch's disposals where anywhere near where Kreuzer was playing?:p

He is a gun, if he keeps fit which i hope he does (he is great to watch) i think he will be somewhere in top 3 in the league within a few years.

I think he would look good in brown and yellow!

Jolly going down did the Pies a great favour. He would have fared no better at the centre bounce than Lynch, and become a liability in the wet. Lynch got smashed at centre clearances, but he was plenty strong enough to compete at the boundary throw ins and still has a great motor around the ground. Might be a case of out of Vic out of mind, but I have probably been guilty of under-rating him.

Anyway, watching Kreuz go at it just gladdens the heard like no one else on the list can. Contributes in a way that will never be measured accurately by numbers...plays with such menacing intent around the stoppages as Jolly came to find out, and never gives up on a chase. If the first couple of weeks output is his benchmark for the year I would happily take that.
