No one would have predicted Fire Brigade on top underfeated after being decimated with departures during the off season, or are they a one show with Newman?
Are Stanhope as good as predicted, already with two defeats, and when will recruit J mullane fire?
Kyabram seem to be travelling OK, but the loss of A sierakowski, there No. 1 strike bowler who is supposedly heading to Darwin to play footy next week could really damage there already fragile attack.
Also how does anyone think we will go a country week?

Whats the thoughts on the 20-20 cricket?
The plan is to play all 3 games at the one venue, all captains toss the coin at the start, then mix the games up. ie, Ky could play Gig, Ky could bat first then 2 teams from other games bat, then Ky will bowl 3 hrs later, mixing the games up. You could bat at 10am and then not bowl to finish the game at 4pm.
This is an absolute joke and the league needs to do something NOW!
I like 20-20 and think its great, but not this way OR for premieship points when the finals over 3 days not 3 hours.

the league are trying to jump on the 20-20 bandwagon and have ultimately stuffed it up. the ky - fire brigade 20-20 games last year were the way 20-20 games should be played, more of a spectacle for the community, not for points!

I hear this year bowlers are allowed to come off the long run, what do you think of this YNI? I personally cant see to much of a problem but i spose it will probably reduce the scoring.

i believe it won't make that much difference as the boys are just gonna swing from the arse to cow corner either way. it just means the 20 overs takes longer to bowl.

Last year Ky recruited Matty Richo and deledio to play, huge, and add to that friday nights, short run ups, short boundaries and music and commentary.

The league need to have a good hard think about the best options to attract not only all the players but spectators. At the moment they couldnt be further away from this. :

yes siera loves to get the guns out when he gets gassed as well as the throwing of furniture. the dirty german in my eyes does not live up to the reputation that he is suppose to have....has been very soft lately, not willing to attend the echuca races after he had been chanting that he was to attend and have many a frothie is an example of this!!!

What does the future hold for the KDCA, 6 current teams and Girgarre strength very weak, Cooma if lost the Ransons I beleive would force them to merge. only leaves 4 competive teams.

Could the KDCA a grade comp dispand? Maybe Kyabram could enter 2 teams in the shepp league out of the leagues best. Ky, Fire Brigade and cooma one and Tonny Stanhope Gig the other. Then A res would be called a grade and it would be a little stronger with more teams, currently only has 6. The two teams could train together one night ie tuesday and train with there respective clubs thurs, ie Sierakowski with Ky Red on Tues and with Ky on thurs. Lowey with Ky black on tues and Stanhope thurs.

Fire Brigade looks like reclaiming Danny Kent to its ranks after the christmas break. My mail is he wont play many games but enough to qualify for finals (if make it). Not to keen where he currently plays in Richmond.

The crowd will be the same as any other saturday,
unless the KDCA has done something for spectator interest, which I doubt.
has the kdca organised music, commentary, or money for crowd catches or something that will warrant a great specticle, NO!

Cant wait to watch those boring Cooma C**ts, gee they will make an entertaining game.

I don't think that the KDCA will fold, for one thing, Gus & Chalks wouldn't allow it (Yes, A Grade is a worry, and the fact that we've lost two clubs in three years), and the Junior competition is starting to develop nicely (they have more sides than before, and my club, Murchison is working really hard on developing our Under 13's side).

I believe that there should be a merger of both KDCA & SCA A-Grades into a Superleague of 10 teams (6 SCA, 4 KDCA). with the weaker sides in both comps (Katandra, Girgarre, etc), dropping back into the second tier level, into an "A-Grade" SCA or KDCA competiton, and have both Murchison & Rushworth moved into the top flight in the KDCA, with the KDCA having 3 grades instead of 4, and the SCA having 4 grades instead of 5, and the Juniors should remain the same.

Now, back to the 20/20, in B-Grade, we still have no idea where ours is going to be held, and it's less than two weeks away, and with Fire Brigade forfeiting most of their games in our grade (the KDCA, should have a word with them to see if they want to abandon thier 3rds side, so we gan rejig the draw so there will be no byes), our whole draw is stuffed.

totally agree wayde, as I mentioned ina earlier post a merger could happen and a res would be called a grade.

Murch could easily step up and should have already. are they waiting to win a flag or wat. theyve been first every year and cant win it. WHY?
They would have more chance in a reserve, as they wont beat Kys b grade team. Rushys team, especially there bowling attack are capable of stepping up also.

I dont even no whats happenin this week in 20-20. I think it will be tough to bowl 120 overs at 1 ground with 6 changeovers at only start at 12, will be pissed off if still playin cricket at 7pm. hopefully play first, then be at pub by 3.

This thread started in a blaze of glory but finished up real quick.

Now the season is well and truly over what was everyones thoughts on the season.

Did the departure of Tatura have as big an affect as a lot of people thought it would?

Was the 2020 games a winner or a loser?

Fire Brigade dominating the season was a surprise for me, I really though Stanhope would be a major player in 06/07, was last year a true reflection of their strength?

Another surprise was Chappy winning the bowling, no disrespect Chappy as you have got me out more than once, but thought a couple of others would have claimed a few more wickets.

I also thought Tonny would have gone better, plenty of young locals who I thought would have taken a step forward in 0607.
