I'm not discussing JT or Martin at VFL level, i'm discussing them at AFL level. Performing in the VFL=/ Performing in AFL.

One has speed, ability to break from a contest and above average agility and one does not. Martin's ceiling is a decent HFF. JT, Brommhead, Kenno ect all have the attributes to make it in the middle. That's why they are getting games.

I've seen him against Melbourne in the seniors and the Essendon VFL side the week of ANZAC Day in 2013-14. So yeah, i've seen him tear apart a VFL team, you still don't seem to realise that doesn't mean he'll automatically be a consistent AFL contributer.

So will I and I doubt doubt he'll be one of our best. Hate to sound like a broken record, but just because he performs tomorrow (just like he has for the last 3 years) doesn't automatically mean he'll make the step up against QUALITY AFL opposition.

He looked good tonight though Witts did a lot of rucking and therefore got a lot of hit outs but Ceglar beat both our rucks around the ground and in the air. The conversation does not need to wait till next year. His delisting was unwise.

Grundy played half a game. Witts had more hit outs.

I must be blind, I thought the Grund was doing o.k and was shocked when he went off at half time. Then when Witts was standing there looking like he had done his shoulder, I thought my god Bucks is a d!ck. He subbed Grundy off, now Witts goes down. Why sub Grundy off at Half time not three quarter time like he is suppose to. Grundy wasn't injured was he?

Witts was very good though. How good were a couple of those clunks. Gault did alright too for a first gamer.

We'll be alright, once we get the seniors back in. But I am hoping we go out and spend the money that the senior players like Ball, Lynch, Maxwell and Goldsack were on if he goes, and get some experienced players to go with our young side. Other wise it is rebuild time confirmed, and I don't want that. I want to make finals next year for sure.

Ok here's the official reason why Marto isn't getting a game - he's not fit enough.
No names, but I spoke to someone from the club at the VFL today and both he & Kennedy need to improve their fitness - simple as that.

Yeah, how's that for a KPI for all the keyboard warriors! Fitness seems like a pretty basic prerequisite.
I for one hope Martin sticks it out with us, we are the team that gave him an AFL lifeline, hope he gets a promotion and tears it up next year and can replace swan long term

I really feel for Kyle Martin. Bloke has largely carved up the VFL for 3 years now and has never really been given a sustained run in the seniors. With all the injuries we've had he still can't get a game ahead of Seedsman who was just average last weekend. Clearly has to be on the outer doesn't he / off next team. Might be the one that got away I reckon. Ideal replacement for Luke Ball in my view.

Thoughts?

Yeah, they are really acting like Professionals at the moment. Running the players into the ground so they have multiple injuries all at once, and the response by Buckley, we will go harder next year, and if they break they break.

Martin was best one ground for the Pies today by the way. Yeah, real unfit.

Well I vote no confidence. Anyone that responds to a massive injury crisis with we will train them harder next year, and if they break, they break, has lost my confidence. Winning coaches would NEVER say such a thing.

kmARt.....another superstar performance in the loss in the elimination final today. Not his fault that we're finished for the year......56 kicks...32 handballs.....4 goals....13 tackles and 2 hitouts.... fantastic effort considering he was subbed out for concussion for 20 minutes and then sat the third quarter out because of a groin strain. Will obviously be on a senior list next year. Word is that there were recruiting staff from 4 teams in the current eight that were at the ground. His is 10-1 on favourite for the Liston Trophy for the VFL. Sportsbet has suspended betting because it isnt receiving any bets on other players. Word is that he is being considered for an OBE in the new years honours list. It couldnt happen to a more worthwhile champ. Well done Kyle!
