He is getting fitter, he can play the small forward role, so maybe he will play more than instead of Milne. He is a better all round player.

montagna is definatly a player with a future. He has shown over the last 2 weeks that he can play quality footy, he just needs to be able to put it together on a regular basis. He has fought his way into the ssaints side and i think he will stay.

If it weren't for the events following the Wizard Cup Final he would have been in the team for round one. He's probably had the hardest year of his life dealing with the well publicised allegations but managed to remain one of Springvale's best players all season. Thoroughly deserved his chance a few weeks ago and has been one of our better players each game since returning.

As QSaint said, he is capable of playing as a small forward but is probably more suited to a running role such as on the wing where he can use his speed. Not many teams would say no to a skillful goal kicking wingman, I'm confident he'll make it at the top level and at pick #37 in the 2001 draft was a bargain.

He'll be a star in the future. Whenever he's been on the starting lineup (that's how hard it is to get into the Saints lineup this year ), he's been great. Kicked goals, achieved alot of possies and disposals.

He wont be a in the same mould of a Milne or Matera when it comes to Small fowards .. he wont be the oick it up in one motion, step a few players and snapp it over my left shoulder sort of player.


Very strong on the lead and mark for someone his size, and an extremly accurate kick for goal. The sort of bloke who can take a smaller defender into the square with him and lead forward from there...
