I love the fact that Hunter has re-signed for another 3.. If I get one of the tickets to the player sponsor dinner, I'm going to talk to as many of the young players and catch up with JJ who I spoke to a few years back in 2012. I'm going to be pretty persuasive when it comes to our club and sticking around. We're finally on the verge of something enormous in terms of our club and the list has the ability to snare a few flags in a short time.

Feel free to slip in, "few players get a chance to win a premiership, but far fewer get the chance to be part of a team that may well win multiple premierships if they stay together. To be spoken of as a champion team, not just a premiership team, long after their careers are over, and be regarded as gods in the eyes of a clubs faithful who have been denied for so long. Add to that, that the club is the bulldogs, Destiny has placed before them. a chance for AFL immortality, in every way."

Not sure if this is the right thread to post.. Hypothetically is there a way to rort the system by re-signing someone a year or two out of a bit contract and change the value? EG Toyd signed 7yr deal for $6M. Could we re-sign him next year at a lesser rate and restructure the whole contract which would then nullify the original $6M contract?

You can restructure a contract at the discretion of said player and players manager, but why the hell would Boyd want/need to do that? Hunters comments Re: signing on for less are all well and good, (Signing on for a lesser base wage does not mean he hasn't got clauses that are initiated when he hits certain benchmarks to ensure overall value is achieved, almost certainly options there for bonuses) but you've got to remember the TPP is about to be raised, hence shrinking the effect of Tom's contract on our overall list management position, as well as nobody externally understanding the payment structure of said contract and activation clauses etc.

Been saying this for, have a look at our side, have a good look I can not see a weak link in a player that might want to go, or be targeted by other clubs as that weak link.

The father sons love this club and ain't going anywhere.

The rookie listed players like JJ and Dahl have said that they owe the club for giving them their chance.

Look at the high quality people that we have drafted, their values are that high that walking out on the club isn't even in their mind.

We have so many young leaders at this club that want to do something very special during their time here.

We have the lowest number of interstate players on our list, go home factor is 0

Look who we have traded for, guys like Stevens Biggs hamling, a bit like Bellamy with the storm picking up players no one wants and giving them a role and being repaid in form. Would these players want to leave a club or coach who has given them another chance.

Is this an actual quote form somewhere?

I realise all of that, i was simply using the Boyd contract as an example to demonstrate my question, as i wasn't sure if i could articulate it properly without giving an example.

Bont said last night on the radio this group want to do something very special for a very very long time and that monetary returns aren't even a factor.

Gave me chills. I was in the car by myself and before I knew it I was squealing "I f#*ken love you scraggers!!!"

While I agree and love your thinking, who would have thought Gryfen would of walked out on us 24 months ago? He turned down big $$$ offers from Essendon, turned down go home offers from Crows and Port and publicly stated that he owed the club for helping him through his fathers death.

Things change. People change. But yeah, I have faith in most of our boys staying.

I say it depends on the coach. If Bevo wants to stay here for a while, then we might have lots of one club players in the long run. What would be very special would be that Bevo sees out the careers of hopefully a few Hall of famers at the Whitten Oval.

It was on SEN he was out at a training night for a local footy club. Don't know what time around 6 o'clock, think with Harf and Marco.
