The AFL and WADA already has one of those; you're only allowed multiple strikes for non-performance enhancing drugs.

I wish Keeffe all the best in his comeback... Along with JT and the other 17 players who were banned by WADA.
 
Keeffe will be 27 next year with 2 years out of the game and only 40 games under his belt. I'd like to see him make it and his height could be his salvation but it's not going to be easy. It is likely that both Keeffe and Thomas will be depth players in 2017 and will hopefully do enough to at least put pressure on senior players or increase their value if they depart at the end of the year.

It would be interesting to have an insight into what the club are thinking. There are many reasons why they might have given Keeffe (and Thomas) a lifeline such as because they think he has enough talent to come back, just to support him through a difficult time, because heaps of the guys were on the gear and only two were unlucky enough to get busted or as trade bait (although his worth would be very low at the moment).

And who is exactly is the better option as our second key position defender?

It's not like playing Frost is ever going to get us out of the bottom half of the ladder.

Imo a fit and focussed Keefe is easily the second best kpd on our list behind Reid.

Although that might not say a lot about our key position stocks though (forward or back).

From memory he did okay 1 on 1 but was a poor decision maker and had an average disposal.

Between 6-10 imo.

There are plenty of others at Collingwood who took drugs in the offseason (and therefore put themselves before the club according to your classification) - do they deserve to be thrown off the list too? Serious question.
 
Given that Brown is low on form and Frost is presumably as good as he's going to get, then there's no reason why Keeffe couldn't play a decent amount of games. Or if we lose a forward like last week we could put Ben Reid up forward and Keeffe down back now that we have Howe down back as a decent kick.

However, presumably Keeffe and Thomas will be on the rookie list next year which makes it harder.

If he can get back to his best form then he should be best 22. I remember a few games where one of our defenders was getting monstered and Bucks swung Keeffe onto him to negate their influence well. He can be a good player, just needs consistency and form.

Always interested why this is something so commonly thought. We usually talk about how it often takes players 50 games to really learn the ropes of AFL footy and big players/ KPFs take longer

Here is Frost around 50 games, and 50 games where he was given big tasks from day 1 and not eased in, but now he has got a bit of experience we believe he can't improve. Doesn't make sense to me.
