2. WB 72 (or 68 pending Adel result)
3. Haw 70
4. NM 54

7. Adel 48 (or 52 pending WB result, pushing swans to 7th)
8. St K 48

If Swans could win 2 of last 3 games, they'd have a ripping chance of finishing 4th, but I honestly cant see that happening.

We should beat Brisbane, the Collingwood game is the big one, cause there is absolutely no way we can beat the Cats. Pretty accurate prediciton there, though FWIW I reckon the Blues with make it.

TBH I see us beating the Pies, purely because we want it more - not only the Top 4 spot, which the Pies pretty much can't get, but also a win over the Pies which we haven't had in aeons.

Pies and Brisbane are winnable games, the Geelong game is touch and go.. on our day we can match them pretty well, but with the way we're playing now, getting within less than 20 would be a huge credit to the younger guys in the team.

On ladder predictor i had us coming 4th on 54 pts beating NM only on percentage. Its gonna be very hard to beat the pies IMO and Brisbane is no gimme. Hopefully the win against fremantle will instill some confidence into our players.

Yep I had the same as you, but I've been very liberal in leaning towards results that favour us.

I'm thinking my prediction of 7th place at the start of the season might be coming true.

Have you seen how we have played against Collingwood in the past 2 years you really thing anything gonna change from round 13

We have a better chance to beat Geelong if they have a offnight than beating Collingwood.

Won't matter, we haven't beaten anybody currently in the 8 this year,
and we're still fourth??? Obviously we've had a charmed fixture this year wouldn't you say?

We beat St Kilda, and drew with Norf.

The Bullies getting shown up by North didn't help our cause yesterday. If we beat Brisbane and the Pies, it would take a special effort by North or Adelaide (i.e. win all 3 of their games) to overtake us. Unfortunately, I don't have an ounce of confidence in us beating Collingwood. So I'll tip us for 5th or 6th.

One week at a time.

There are some critical games this week
R20
WB V Bris (Gabba).... WB win means Brisbane can't make it! That makes Swans last game against them a dead rubber for Bris.

Freo V St Kilda (Subi)... if Freo can beat them at home means Swans can't drop out of 8

Nth V Carl (TD)... if Carlton win takes pressure off top4 all Swans have to do is beat Coll:o and Bris

R21
Swans must beat Collingwood for top 4 chance

R22

WB V Adel TD Huge game if Swans still in hunt for top4!

Depending on worst possible results then Swans must beat Bris to stay in 8

-------

I'll stay positive Swans to run Geelong close (under 6 goals). That counts as psychological victory then beat Coll ( Didak and Shaw huge outs) and Bris

TOP4.... with a shot at upsetting Cats 1st Elim and then having a crack at Hawks or Dogs in a Prelim at Home!:thumbsu::D

The Collingwood game will be the decider I think. Massive test for us against a bogey team. Would be handy to get Malceski, Micky O' and Playfair back for it too.

Way too much thinking in this thread for my liking. Basically if we win, awesome, if we lose, bad. Need to win 2 out of 3 to keep our top 4 spot. And North need to lose.

Unfortunately, it's at AAMI. Still winnable for Dogs, but would have been a soda at the Dome.

If Carlton beat North this week, we can still finish 4th with only ONE more win. Wouldn't take any huge upsets for it to happen.

We will get the Pies, i dont doubt it.
Their outs will make a difference, its all about the match ups with them, and as long as we dont play with an extra man in defence and attack the footy we are as good a chance at knocking them out..
I will be there and this time i will walk out of the stadium feeling quite chuffed..

Did that result surprise anyone? Rocket admitted the dogs set themselves for the game against us, and once they had 3rd place locked up they were going to coast. I knew they were going to roll over for North. Its a mexican conspiracy.

The crows have found form and could go the rest of the way undefeated. However, a tough game against the Saints, who will be desperate, should test them out.

North too are in good touch but play the cats at the cattery. If they win that they deserve 4th spot.

I dont really give a shit where we finish, I just want to see us beat the fecking pies, who I hate more than child molesting clergymen.

Love the thinking Corps, love trying to do that myself.

I agree, Pies is a must win. It marks Roos becoming longest serving Swans coach, and could see Micky, Playfair and Eski back, so who knows, I think that one's about 50-50 for us - the bogy vs the adrenaline - and the Brissy will all but definately be a rubber; but even if it isn't, remember how we ended the season last year against a team desparate for top four. ;)

I did an absolute worst case scenario prediction which had the Swans finishing 9th so one more win is still needed to at least play finals.

I wouldn't like to leave it until the last ghame of the season against Brisbane, If strange things happen then Brisbane could be playing to win to sneak into the eight or they could be playing with nothing to lose knowing there is no next week.

I'm really gunning for a victory over the pies.

To think we're a chance against the cats would be optimistic seeing as the cats have only lost one game this season against a side that was incredibly switched on. Still chubby fingers crossed.

yes i remember, and then how we layed down and got pecked to death by the maggies. Goodes says we always rise to the occasion and love the big games. Just winning 1 game in the whole season against a top 6 side would be nice. Geez, i think every team bar Syd and Melb have done at least that this year. Its quite amazing to think that this group of players could go the whole season and not win one decent game against teams above them.

actually, Swans will stay on 46, and kiss goodbye 08. Not really a surprise. Disappointing to go the whole season and not have 1 single top 4 win.

Its not surprising because we are not a top four side and I don't think we are a top eight side either, only losses to Collingwood which is a definite and a definite maybe win/loss against Brisbane will prove it.

disagree, injuries and suspensions to major players have killed us this year. Eliminate those two factors and we would be right up there.
