Toast Laidler

Really? Why because he is quicker & 2 inches taller? FFS Bower's lack of physical contest and aggression at the ball has also cost us plenty of goals over the years.
At one stage Bower had the potential to be a topline defender but 3 years of injuries have curtailed those ambitions. Laidler > Bower.

Well said. Watching the Bullants on Saturday, Emu is nowhere near VFL standard atm, so God knows if he'll ever have an impact in the big league again. Breaks my heart to say it because I think he's been desperately unlucky, but we should take whatever we can get for him this trade period. Maybe GWS will have a crack.

Nick ****ing Duigan?

Bench.

Scotland has been too good in the sweeper role to ignore, and though it pains me to say it I cringe every time Duigan approaches a ground ball

Laidler has been a fantastic pickup. Reliable mark, raking left boot, smart decisions under pressure. Thank you Geelong.

From what I saw of Bower on the telly Saturday, he's moving freely and looks confident in his body. Worth bringing back this week against an undermanned attack.

Exactly. Reckon we've found ourselves in a 10 year player all for a packet of chips. :thumbsu:

I love Duigan but Laidler to me is the recruit of the year. Duigs will improve a bit but Laidler is young and will improve more.

Laidler is smart, brave, can mark and can kick. A good size too. Great package for a defender.

And as pointed out, got him ready made for a packet of chips. Good stuff.:thumbsu:

Laidler has been quite important for us and definitely has that improvement in him due to his age. Still prefer what Duigan has brought to the table though, week in week out he brings super courageous acts that spur the team on. Running back with the flight, head over the ball, dropping in front of the massive forwards, he does it all. Just brings more intangibles to the side.

Oh and one thing, i don't think Laidlers left boot is quite as damaging as some people are saying. He has neat disposal, but has been left wanting on a few occasions. Left footers always look glamorous whether they hit a 60m target or pop it out on the full.

I personally couldn't split Laidler and Duigan. Laidler has the ability to play on slightly taller players (even if he's only an inch taller himself) but Duigan just goes at the ball so hard. They are fantastic additions to the team. :thumbsu:

 I think you spent too much time at DFO and not enough at Etihad ;):p

He's a good kick, just not a great kick. He rarely makes me nervous when he has the ball, perhaps the way i explained it came across as being overly harsh. His best aspect for mine is his ability to leave his man at the right time and be third man up for the spoil or the mark.

Wasn't me doing the shopping! I was uh moral support for the missus' shopping.

By the way, did you find the frock you were looking for? :p
