Worsfold was on the news this arvo and he was quite open to the idea of Laidley at West Coast as an assistant coach.

Yer if anyone watched the EaglesTV interview John did he actually seemed pretty keen to get him. He did state however that their is no open spot at the moment.

Its a shame we missed out on Vossy. I was well keen on him coming

Did anyone listen to 6PR last night, as stated above, Barra did say that one of our assisstant coaches would be going back to Melb at the end of the year..Hopefully its Broadbridge and not Burns...oh please let it be Broadbridge..our skill level will increase magically once he leaves

Tonight on 6PR Karl guessed that it was the backline coach and Barra seemed pretty happen to agree without giving himself up. I would suggest they were refering to Metropolis.

That would suit our timing with Laidley then, Id assume that he will spend the rest of the year talking to people and then put his hand up for any senior positions that are available at the end of this year. If he doesnt get any of those I think we will get him back at the club.

Worsfold indicated that we might be able to create a position for him even...

I love it.. North are struggling to find the money to pay for the senior coach they want and we are making positions just to accomodate coaches!

Defensive coach and tactician :thumbsu:
hope so
I would think all the assistant coaches have input into the game plan and tactics.

I would love to see Laidley given the role of motivator.
Address the players individually when needed in the wash-up after a game and most of all just before they break away from the huddle for each quarter. :D

I heard Barra talking on Sports Central last night, and he said that he has it on good advice that one of West Coast's Assistant Coaches wants to head to Melbourne at the end of this year. He obviously didn't say who it was, but he did say that they haven't been at the club for long at all.

I doubt it would be Burns, so i'm assuming maybe Broadbridge...
Burns might be part of a new coaching team involving Buckley. ;)

Metro was a runner for us up until this year when Woosh gave him the defensive coaching job, why would he go to Melbourne after that?
Agreed. And a Perth boy too. Makes no sense to me

Burns signed a 2 year contract I believe, so it's unlikely to be him.

Maybe Barra is just talking shit for a change
