with Matthews resigning and the untried Voss getting the gig - i think we should really target Lambert BIG TIME to come on as an assistant.

I know we said we were not looking at changing our assistants roles - but **** that - Lambert would be an awesome addition to our side - has spent an absolute shit load of time working alongside a legend like matthews, been part of premeirship wins.... go get him tiger....

Agree.

Have heard his name linked somewhere, somehow - probably pie in the sky.

By the way, we're looking at expanding the number of assistants, no one will be cut.

Worth monitoring regardless.

i question his ambitions, if he had any , he would have left the cushy environment of the Lions den and gone out to try and cut it in the Big league...I'm not breaking a leg to get him:eek:

why do you question his ambitions? because he has never pushed to become a senior coach himself?

I don't think something like that should count against him when looking at him for an assistants role. I think sometimes its better to have asst coaches who are content with that postion than ones that are always looking at knifing the current ones back.

surely he is hands down better than pretty much all the other blokes we have in those roles, and being a former tiger ( who is more than familiar with the ugly side of richmond ) i think he could certainly help continue to change the culture of the club, for the better.

I think one of the main benefits of getting former players in, and especially ones who had been dealt with perhaps harshly - is that they understand more than anyone the negative side to success our antics sometimes encourage.

.

I personally judged Mark Harvey in the same manner and have proven to be on the money...I wouldn't buy too much into Lamberts past links to RFC, they would be about as strong as Brian taylors...**** all, probably a period they prefer to forget...Peter German is now avaial and has a great CV with 2 flags in the wafl

I agree, we should go for Lambert, was a Richmond player as a younger bloke, would still have partial ties to the Tiges.

IMO Brian Royal could be the man to go, would maybe be looking at the GC17 option, McRae could be a big chance to become an assistant with Voss at Brisbane.

Forget Lambo, the club shafted him and he told them to get ****ed, when they were dealing him around, behind his back, and he went into the PSD. We got JS for a top player, thats how endeared the tigers are to him.

Out of left field, i would have a chat to Pressa. ;)

i think the fact that he was burnde by the club makes him more attractive for the job.

He has been a victim of the "ugly richmond" and would understand how that behaviour destablisers a team.

the only person who is at cthe club at board level that was there when he was around is Tony Free, and i doubt there would be any ill feeling there
