Lance is out - so who is ideal to play CHF/CHB?

For another six weeks? I believe that we have enough firepower in the forward line with McKernan, Fevola, Hickmott, Houlihan and possibly Kouta. However, Whitnall had given us some sense of stability in the backline from his smart play and strength. Yes, I know, it didn't work against St. Kilda, but he did more good than harm when he played there for most of this year. I'd expect young Thornton to be given a run at CHB, with Martyn down at FB. It is certain that our backline will be weaker, so maybe Pagan might adjust the forward line so that Kouta may take up CHB? I would leave him in the midfield where he played his best games this year since we alreay have good forwards in Hickmott (down but not out), McKernan (starting to hit form), Fevola (dropped but may climb back) and Houlihan (beginning to deliever). Perhaps Pagan might throw Lappin up forward for good measure? Or perhaps not... he is now one of our best players down back and surely going to grab the 2003 B&F.

Thoughts?

Yes, Whitnall missing is a huge blow. But this week isn't the week it will really hurt. Bandy's out for us, so whoever we put at CHF will have even less experience than Thornton probably.

Big Barney French
He played there in the prelim and GF last year for Sturt and dominated, just with his presence. Might be an option, especially with Matty Allan back

McKernan at CHF but somebody fleet of foot at his feet. Thornton will hold CHB okay with Beauy to go there if Martyn is struggling and Thorny has to drop back.

The thing that hurts us the most is the lack of youthful hunger especially from the likes of Waite and Fisher who don't seem to realise they are not expected to be as good as they are so early (especially Fisher).

If we lose this one regardless of the Doggies motivation to do well, we should be contemplating the spoon as a likelihood yet again.
