Nic Nat didn't get this rounds 'rising star' award some kid playing in the East got it for 20 something possesions did any of them result in a goal? Let alone 3 MATCH WINNING GOALS

Pears directly set up two goals that I can remember by running off Fev, all the way down the ground and passing into the Bombers fifty. Worth the nomination just to see Fev sulking in the opposite goal square with his hands held up as if to say "what do you want me to do about it?"

Hilarious!:D

Pears gets 20 touches and gets a nomination.
Chris Masten has been getting nearly 30 touches the last 4 weeks.
But how they manage to not give it to Nat is a joke.

The Rising Star is a joke.

Pears deserves a rising star, we all know that the rising star is also based on previous performance and is sometimes given to the kid who has had a good few games rather than a kid who has had one good game. Not only was it Pears turn but he also shut down one of the most dangerous forwards in a huge game at the MCG friday night (exposure) got 20 posessions playing FB and created 2 goals.

As someone said above it was also worth it too see Fev get pantsed, just to rub it in a little more.

But he is a pathetically desperate Hawks fan.

He also has a special dislike for the Eagles. I suspect like Brerreton and Hird he is a Victorian old school fool who resents the way the eagles set new standards on and off the field over the years - just review any of his calls of Swans-Eagles games. His bias is pathetic.

I think you'll find he comes from WA.

For anyone that listened to Sports Central last night would of heard a very ill Barra mention about the kids at the Access All Areas gig he'd just been to at Subi. Langdon was having a laugh when Barra mentioned out of the 40 kids there who were asked 'who their favourite Eagles player was' atleast 30 of them said NicNat! Langers was saying how full of crap Barra was etc etc. My kids were lucky enough to have been there and they are all big NicNat fans since he made his debut. I don't think it's a matter of putting so much pressure on him it's more a fact that he's such a positive to come out of the last year and a half of footy doldrums for the club. He gives people something to be happy about and reminds people (as those who were at Subi on Saturday will confirm) what it is we go to the footy to watch in the first place.

PS. My kids were so excited on the way home from Subi to hear Barra talking about them on the radio! :thumbsu:

Now Makka did you make sure to mention to your kids that they shouldnt get too excited about Naita and just to keep there emotions in check for a few years untill we can see his development?

Hard to do when I told them how I was jumping off my seat in the rain when he nailed those goals of his! :D As I said, seeing guys do stuff like that is what we go to the footy for, no matter who they are or who they play for!:thumbsu:
