Agree up to a point as i like him as a tagger- i think his best value though is in a Sewell type role, mainly to get in and under then grab the ball and quickly give it to someone who can kick long to a target or start a handball chain.

Doesn't have the street smarts that Sewell had.

Turn him into a Ryan Crowley type as that is the only way he has a long term future in the game. His disposal is rotten but he is tough and goes at it very hard.

Reading some of the opinions in here, it seems he should be flogged mercilessly until the skills of Darren Jarman leap from his flailed body.

His job is to get it in and under and extract it - he's the one guy doing this at present, Brad Sewell style. I'd rather see people assessing the disposal of the outside runners who benefit from Langford's extractions.

There is absolutely no point in getting in and extracting the pill if the end result is that you chop it up and the opposition ends up with it.

Clarko said that they are trying to find him another role apart from mid and thinks he coukd play forward. Only thing keeping him out of the side.

Yep doesn't have the footskills for down back so needs to be a pinch hitter up forward where his manic pressure creates goals.

All well and good but who would he replace? Our band of small forwards are up there with the best the game has seen.

The idea is that he gets his goal kicking mojo back like 2014 ("they're away", "goal of the Grand Final"), ie. the other string to his bow he misplaced, not play forward.

Why does everyone think Clarko talking about Langford forward means he has to displace someone.

He is talking about rotations, if poppy goes on ball and Langers rests forward then you keep a lot of the tackling pressure, you also get a guy who is a bit taller and reasonable overhead so if he can kick a goal or two causes different match up issues when forward

Langford has spent a decent amount of time forward this year but for not much impact that is what the club wants to change, he's nowhere near a good enough kick to play behind the ball so that's what he needs to do if he wants to be in the team, kick goals when he is forward
