Would have preferred they keep Chip until the end of the year, but I don't think much will change on offence anyway the remaining 6 games.

Everything is pointing towards Pete getting rightly fired at the conclusion of this season.

Losing to the Browns is a good day from a draft perspective. The only game I think they have a chance in is against the Giants, and even then I think they'll lose it. I can't see them winning another game. That'll likely get them a top 3 pick, if not higher.

Watch us win a game we shouldn't and end up with a pick out of decent QB range

Remaining schedule is @ Chargers, Denver, @ Philly, @ Houston, New York Giants and Kansas City.

Those first four have borderline if not elite defensive lines which are going to cause havoc. I think the Giants have too much firepower on offense, and this team has no chance against the Chiefs either. They're definitely not winning more than 2 games. I reckon they'll win 1 at the most, personally, though I still think they'll lose out and finish the season 2-15.

I'm hearing the front office at this point is safe, but I fully expect the coaching staff to be fired at the end of the season.

This is the one year they legitimately look like the undisputed worst team in football, and are very much in a position to get a high pick. A high pick which could get them their QB of the future, combined with 100+ million in cap space (2nd most in the league), and things can turn around very quickly.

Is there a generational QB in the draft?

There are very few QBs who are generational prospects in the draft. In the last 30 years there was Peyton, Luck and Caleb Williams (who has severely underwhelmed relative to expectation). Plenty of very good prospects though.

In this upcoming draft, the top 2 QB prospects will be Fernando Mendoza of Indiana and Ty Simpson of Alabama. Dante Moore of Oregon is on the same level but the majority of draft experts out there think he's staying in college for 1 more season.

Mendoza to me is a guy who has all the necessary traits you want in a QB to go and win. Mobile, good arm strength, super high football IQ, and multiple years as a starter in college (history shows the guys who are one and done are rarely, if ever, successful in the pros).

He's the guy I want.

I wouldn't wait until next year. Next year's class is meant to be a better QB class, but they said the same damn thing about this class 12 months ago, and so many of the supposed sure things all turned to shit this year.

And God knows if they don't address the QB position this off season, they'll instead work around it, most likely improve in a few spots, and have a draft pick in that 8-12 range which won't be high enough any to go and get a top QB talent without trading up and mortgaging the farm.

Not really. Mendoza would probably go top three, Simpson top ten and Moore top 15 but QBs tend to go earlier than expected. Any of them would probably be good for us though you wouldn't risk them behind our current oline

In our favour is that the two teams who will probably have pick one and pick two dont need a QB.

The line will be much better next year (though much better could still mean well below average).
Kolton Miller will be healthy. I expect a new coaching staff to buy into JPJ. Rogers and Grant are two intriguing projects. DJ Glaze is a good swing tackle worst case scenario.

And if they could get some like Lindebaum in free agency, things would look a heck of a lot better on the line.

Miller is a free agent next year. We should be signing him up asap. He didn't look very good when he started but kept at it .
Rogers and Grant should be getting snaps for experience.

Miller is actually signed for the next 3 seasons after this one (until the end of the 2028/29 season).

Not sure why you think he wasn't good at the start of the year. He was very good all year until he got hurt. It was last year where he was coming off off-season surgery that he looked rusty for the first half of the season.

I meant when he was drafted.
He looked like a bust but we stuck with him. Unlike a lot of other players we let go.
Was reading about Amik Robertson recently. Doing well now.

Kolton was always going to be a project. Granted, I'll admit I hated the pick. I was wrong, very wrong. He's a very good bordering on great left tackle.

Amik was always a baller. Disappointed he left over what was a pretty mild contract from Detroit.

based on the views of those who studied the offense and based on those who game-planned against it this season, they don't believe Kelly was running his own offense at all. It was unlike anything Kelly previously had run.
In fact, defensive coordinators likened the Raiders offense this season more to Shane Waldron's offense with the Seahawks in 2023, Carroll's last year with Seattle.

In the spring, for instance, sources said coaches were excited about the possibilities of Kelly's gun-based offense, only to run basically none of it this season. Not helping matters was that Kelly's staff contained mostly coaches with connections to Carroll, including offensive line coach Brennan Carroll and Olson. That made the blend of offenses not really a blend at all.
It's all led to a mess this season. nfl.com
