What was the last cd you purchased? Any good?

Mine was Dropkick Murphys- Blackout. They are head and shoulders my favourite band ever, love their style and the mix of traditional irish songs with folk-punk as well as their original stuff. Blackout is a lot more polished than the other albums they've released, still got a lot of heart though. Favourite song from the album is a toss up between 'buried alive' and 'worker's song'.

Oi!

"Dear Catastrophe Waitress" by Belle and Sebastian. I've only had one listen.....I think it'll take a few more listens before I really get into it. I blame Trevor Horn's production - it looks like he's totally removed any warmth that B&S usually have on their CDs.

"A Little Distraction" by the Lucksmiths. Brilliant, just wonderful. I was about to get sick of these guys, but this little EP is fabulous. "Honey Honey Honey" is a great song - their best since "The Year of Living Langrously"

"Strangely Beautiful" by Club 8. They've moved away from their dance sounds and back to the acoustic Field Mice-ish sounds of earlier records. A very sweet record.

"Down With Love" soundtrack. Just to hear Astrid Gilberto do "Fly Me To the Moon" and the track called "Here's To Love" recorded by Renee Zellweger and Ewan McGregor. Great music to cook to.

"Lesser Matters" by The Radio Department. Swedish pop band who do something like the Jesus And Mary Chain mixed with Talulah Gosh. That's a good thing kids.

"You're Still Young At Heart" - compilation by Shelflife records. Shelflife bands covering other Shelflife bands to celebrate the label's 50th release. Great fun for people who love their indie-pop.

Aesop Rock - Bazooka Tooth
Styles Of Beyond - Megadef
Viktor Vaughn - Vaudeville Villain
Farewell Fondle'em
MF Doom - Special Herbs 3&4

Dr Dre - 2001
Nas - It Was Written
Queens Of The Stone Age - Songs For The Deaf
The Dandy Warhols - Welcome To The Monkey House

Embarrassingly it was Evanescence - Fallen, which I bought on impulse at the airport. I wished I hadn't bothered within two hours of doing so. Prior to that it would've been Hail To The Thief by Radiohead and Man With The Movie Camera by the Cinematic Orchestra.

What's bazooka tooth like?...i've heard mixed reviews.

Vik Vaughn's a great album, even though I'm starting to get sick of MF Doom putting old movie excerpts on his albums.
He sure does like to use his multi's though.

Was foolish enough to purchase The Essential Ozzy Osbourne because of the variety of titles on it. Very poor sound quality and the digital remastering does nothing for Ozzy. Leaves you feeling groggy and lately have only been wanting to listen to their live stuff. :(
