Although I agree that Laycock has not played very well of late I do not think we should give up on him just yet. He is still only 22 (turns 23 in November) and so has time on his side particularly seeing as he is a big framed player, who always take longer to develop. Just look at McIntosh (same age) and Blake (a year younger) who have played very well this year. I think we need to continue playing Laycock in the seniors and be patient with him (as painful as this may sometimes be).

I think we have to stick with laycock also........ he looks damn lazy but he has had yt another awful run with niggly injuries which may or may not be affecting his fitness base !

Hamish McIntosh has got himself super fit this year, look at the turnaround he is having this season because of it.......... if you were coaching Lazycock right now you would be showing him several tapes of McIntosh of 2-3 years ago compared to this year......

Lazycock just needs to get his body super fit, then we can make some better judgement calls on him

Most rucks dont come on until they hit 25 or longer. Darcy was around 29 before he became a star. Lade has only really hit his straps in the last 2 years and hes no spring chicken. I think your expecting to much to soon from some blokes especially considering the amount of time Laycocks spent on the injured list during his career, he's missed out on the skill building and fitness base work becasue of it, he won't get any fitter by not playing!

I like to think that Neagle and Gumby will be our next forward duo, because Laycock has the ability to tap the ball down well..I think he is struggling for any fitness at all which in turn affects his ruckwork. He will gain fitness and in turn confidence and in turn again become a better ruck again..

As an outsider (and a Devonport fella), Laycock should be kept with. Not that he's any chance of getting delisted, but he needs to work on his consistency.

He's one of the most athletic big men in the league. Athletic wise he'd be up there with cox, loves to run, take big marks and handle the ball. Isn't a gumby like most ruckman in the league.

Will play 200 games with you guys.

He doesn't seem to be the same athletic big man as he was when he first turned up at the club. There was a great photo on the EssendonFC website of him taking a huge mark on someones shoulders in his first season playing for Bendigo.

As much I would like to see him make it, it seems he struggle to jump of the ground now days
