Yep, he has been excluded for accepting two jerseys as gifts.

His High School team also must forfeit their next game.

Oh well, he broke the rules, so thats life.

Cant believe he got suspended for the rest of the season...I thought maybe a 2 game suspension and giving the jersey's back may have been a little more on the mark.

James' lawyers are going to appeal the decision and we'll have to wait and see what happens. Doesnt really matter though, well for the rest of his team mates it matters, as they lose the chance to win a National High School title....but for James, his future is already decided.

Agreed, though it probably is a chance to set an example. Do the crime, do the time.

Similar thing happened to Tito Maddox of Houston, who im sure was ruled ineligable to play College after receiving gifts from an agent.

As for Lebron, he will be back in 2 games for sure.. hes just too valuable to suspend

Here tis....

In his very first college basketball game, Syracuse freshmen Carmelo Anthony posted game high totals in scoring and rebounding, putting up 27 points and 11 boards as his Orange lost to Memphis in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at Madison Square Garden. And if, as he dominated the comp at MSG, the 6-8 rookie wing looked like he could`ve been playing for the Knicks rather than the `Cuse-well, let`s just say Don Chaney could use the help.

Coming out of Oak Hill (VA) Academy last year, Anthony was widely regarded as one of the top five high school players in the country. But with Yao Ming finally coming to America, and with Jason Williams becoming Jay, the top of the lottery was looking tighter than airport security.

That meant college, which is great news for folks up in Orange country. Through Syracuse`s first four games, Carmelo was leading the team in minutes, points and rebounds. The Billy Packers of the world would appear to be thrilled, as their beloved college game-the same game they made fat paychecks from, of course-and the Big East Conference get an athletic and financial shot in the arm.

But what happens next year? Carmelo is already being projected as a top five pick in the 2003 NBA draft, probably not far behind his friend LeBron James. If he leaves, Syracuse is back at square one, starting over from right where they were last year. Carmelo wins, raising his name and his Draft status. The NBA wins, getting a (slightly) more seasoned player. But Syracuse loses. And college basketball fans have the NBA to thank.

If you`re a young player, what choice do you have? The NBA`s collective bargaining agreement calls for set contract lengths. Rookie contracts run four to five years. If you go pro at 18, you get a big contract at 23, then have a chance for a second payday at 29. If you play three or four years of college, your rookie deal won`t end until you`re 27. Will a team pay the huge bucks to a 27 year old? Or a 33 year old?

If you`re a good enough basketball player, it only makes sense to get on what the NBA players call "the clock" as soon as possible, so you can be a free agent before your clock totally clicks out. So we`ll enjoy watching Carmelo run roughshod through the NCAA this season and expect to catch him in the League next year. Doesn`t even take a college math class to figure that out.

No worries. I just read that Syracuse just knocked over the no.2 seed in Pittsburgh 67-65. Georgetown are coming off a tough 2OT loss, so you`d expect to keep the ball rolling.

Cheers.

I'm a lazy arse uni student, so i shall kick back and watch.

I will then give you my scouting report on Carmelo Anthony :D

Latest news is that LeBrons ban hs been lifted, and he is eligable to continue playing for his high school.

He will have to sit out their next game though as a suspension or something.

I can hear executives from Reebok, Adidas, Nike, And1 and the Tooth fairy (and rumours also suggest Santa Claus) crying because they cant offer LeBron lucrative contracts now.

Those rumors about Santa Claus are just too far fetched. But the Easter Bunny was close to a deal with LeBron....or so I hear :D
