Just wondering what you though of his game against the tiges? i thought he showed some very good signs with his pressure/tackling, do you think he is capable of getting a regular start this season? or will he play VFL more often then not?

Depth player. The 'ANVIL" will get rolls throughout the year, in the vain of Wakes, but i wouldn't expect him to be in the 22 every week. I hope he does find his feet and become a soild contributor for the Pies and who knows what might happen.

Brown will be the butt of a lot of people's criticism, then one day he will be thrown up forward, bag 3 or 4, win the acclaim of everyone, but soon after return to the 'hate' list. Such is the lot of Leigh Brown playing AFL footy.

we got alot more out of him than i was expecting, well worth the draft pick. IMO he will most likely be a depth player who competes for a position in the 22 like ben johnson did the previous year.

He hit it hard on Thursday. Liked it.

Yeah I liked his attack on the footy. Looks fitter than when he was at North. I think he's suited to the role Wakes used to play, but also run off his man and get the ball koving forward for us on half back.

More than handy. A very good insurance poilcy.

I don't think he is in our best 22, but is probably the next tall to come in if a Rocca, Cloke, N Brown, Presti, etc go down.

I see you've been reading the "Leigh Brown Watch" in the bay Fu.

I think the Norf supporters are getting a little worried about their criticism of the Anvil, their not sticking to the OP's subject. Leigh's first 2 games has got them deflecting attention onto other matters such as drafting!

That what the north fans said

lol you kidding me?

You'r only as good as your last album in this caper, but the first two singles were not bad, got the foot a slightly tappin. Let's see how the rest go, but I reckon he's gone alright.

In other prophesies; I can foresee Norf making it to the finals series, much to everybody's surprise, and then they shalt bomb out in a very disappointing manner...

Hard to argue against that given our recent past. Same with Leigh. Good guy, looks great on paper, trains hard. Sadly, not very good at the game of Australian Rules football.

Best of luck with him though. Be great if he ever did get it together (just not against us)

We don't need him to be God. We just need him to play consistently good football.

He's never played good football before. I don't see why you guys think he'll suddenly turn it all around. Medhurst actually showed flashes of brilliance at Freo whilst Leigh hasn't.

I reckon he'll be really looking forward to playing you guy's. You better start shopping for one of those donut cushions :D

Not in the best 22 but handy depth player who will get games this year and will therefore have the chance to take it a step further. Time will tell but I don't see him being more than a call up player IMHO.

N I havent actually, I rarely go in there, I chased a thread in there a few weeks back, but its not hard to work out Leigh Browns place in the grand scheme of things.

He is at Collingwood because if there is one area that we got caught with our pants down in the rebuild, it's defence. He is there to plug that 2nd Key position whilst Brown matures, maybe he might even become the number one in Presti falters. Whether he is any good at it remains to be seen. But he is spasmodic in that he occcasionally throws up the god game to confound his critics.

But I think his recruitment indicates something far deeper. I think he is there because the club realise that the backline might be the hurdle to going a lot further this year.

They may be somewhat justified in their criticism of Brown, he is not a world beater. But a new club, a renewed emphasis on his behalf, who knows?
