Fantastic news that Leon has recommitted to the Pies for next year.

There was doubt in my mind, he would stay another season, but he has confirmed this morning, that he wants to play with the Pies again in 2012.

He had chat with Bucks over the weekend, and obviously they met common ground on going forward.

Great stuff

Tooves is also a required player according to Geoff Walsh this morning.

Sounds like we wont be doing much in trade week.

This is great news, we need Leon, he just made his second All Australian team after all, and it could be said he just had the best season of his career.

Hopefully he comes out and states he'll play for one more year like BJ has done (it would end all the going home crap from coming up again), it would be grand to send 2 Collingwood club stalwarts out in style.:)

Looks like 2012 will certainly be Davis and Johnno's last year together. Will cherish 2012.

Not according to this article:

"The AFL's trade week opens today with Brisbane's Mitch Clark seeking a trade to Western Australia and Collingwood's Leon Davis considering a similar move."

Not sure who to trust here, some unnamed source in the West Australian rag or an official article on our Club's site, lol

I feel that if he had of left the club we wouldn't have gotten anything for him either.

Surely we would have. Having made AA in 2009 and 2011 in two completely different positions, you'd think he'd be worthy of a first or second round pick despite being in his last year(s).

I'd rather keep him for another year though. Good result.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. He might have retired to the WAFL also, but I think we would have been lucky to get better than a round 3 pick for him based on his age.
