Please don't take this as a swipe at Leppa, but;

Is the message in that article inconsistent with what Leppa said last week in regards to needing a compensation pick?

He does have a whinge about not having enough high draft picks in the squad but apart from that the message would seem to be that everything is on track, or part of the cycle, as he puts it.

You know your coach is clueless, when he uses Richmond as an example.

I also love how he didn't use luke beveridge as an example, because that would be admitting that he is an inferior coach to him, which he is.

The Bulldogs have a lot of high end talent on their list. Ours doesn't compare at this stage.

I think it is possible for everything to be on track and still need a PP to accelerate the journey moving forward.

Ok - I think Lappa and the media staff read this exact thread. We have been debating who to compare him to for 2 months and there we have it, he is following hardwicks path people!

Narr I actually liked that article, it was timely, 'in Leppa we trust' - with one condition, he HAS to win 8 or more games next season.

This was my take.

I think the comments last week were essentially that we'll get better either way but a priority pick would accelerate that process.

He could be wrong, but I think he's being consistent.

PPs should only be handed out if a clubs situation is pretty dire. Not sure a team that's on the right track really needs one at all.

"Small-mindedly, people could say we've gone backwards," Leppitsch said.

"I've also never seen a year so injury-riddled. I've never seen this sort of year.

"We've got to cop it on the chin that we had a poor year as a club and as a coaching group and playing group (but) we'll all get better."

I don't think complaining about injuries does much to support our case for a PP.

Actually I don't think it helps much of anything, and I'd probably prefer it if we didn't do it.

Dean Warren made a similar comment in the statement announcing his resignation.

I guess at least Leppitsch acknowledges that the coaching and playing group could do better, but I'd prefer if that was the focus, rather than perceived bad luck.

IMO Leppa talks about injuries too much. Have thought it since about round 10 - "well it's just been that sort of year, hasn't it?" Instead of discussing our devalopment issues, he hasn't discussed Rich's form, or the use of certain players etc. Just shrugs his shoulders and talks about luck, hope the playing group don't think a better run with injuries will change much.

Also.. The club have started revisiting classic moments on the website, my most hated time of the year.

Very true. It feels like the club has been pushing through 1998 hard the past 3 or so years, very frustrating to see after a while.

I'd say that a lot of the players who have bad form are in fact injured, but only minority, and that's where he's coming from.

Lots of players carry stuff through the year that we aren't told about until the end of the season.
