If there is to be a change it's best left for the end of the year.
why?

People are getting disgruntled with the game, they are leaving, we dont want good quality posters leaving.

If a majority of the people agree, why not change it immediately?

I agree. I don't think it disadvantages any side, just means that there will be less declarations.

I also support allowing a couple of posting players in each side to change type to balance it out.

There is ofcourse a 3rd option.
That is to lower all bowling and batting averages, which i think is the way to go.
This would stop dodgy dec's and also mean less draws.
That way we could then see if the 2 AR rule would work properly, something needs to change though, i don't mind the draw's but the dodgy dec's are what i hate seeing.

So have I been changed to a pure bat while the World Cup players are out.....? Slowly I'm losing interest with this ****en batting all rounder caper..... Put it to a captain's vote Eddie or slowly see the decline continue...

The reason is simple. The rule strengthens batting line ups and weakens bowling attacks. That has to mean more declarations and draws.

A few random statistics that teams have won on bowling pitches and that playing 5 bowlers increases the bowling attack the fact is that the sim works best with 4 bowlers and also can't realistically simulate declarations (although the auto declaration can be disabled and capatains can call it).

This is by no means proven.

Queensland are top & usually play 5 bowlers.

They beat us when we played 6 pure bats with 4 bowlers, we were copying the WSC model which I thought was the way to go, but it's not.

WCW creamed us on a batting deck, in the biggest thrashing I've ever received in this thing.

We played 6 pure bat, 4 bowlers, they played only 4 pure bats & 6 people who could bowl.

That's what the idea of the rule was, to open the comp up to new ideas, last season everyone was pretty much playing the same way, or mainly variations of 6 pure batsmen line ups.

Last season there were a heap of dodgy declarations too, it's what happens when both sides play 6 batsmen on a batting deck, nobody forces people to choose a batting deck or pack the batting.

Draws are part of the game, it's not like there are that many anyway.

If you don't want to risk it then choose a different pitch type & if you're away from home then take a risk with the extra bowler & go for the win or pick 7 batsmen & play it safe.

It's all tactics & strategy.

Change the rule back & a heap of people will play 6-1-3, 6 pure bats, 1 np bowler & 3 pure bowlers but you'll still end up with dodgy declarations on batting tracks & also last season that line up tended to lose to WSC line up anyway, it's no better.

Rather than a whingefest try to learnt what works best.

If people don't want any draws then go 6 days, I always thought that draws were part of cricket but if we want to be like yanks then go for it.

Having said what I said I actually don't give a f*** if it gets changed, although I'm against mid season rule changes in principle.

The bottom line is that the optimum line ups all contain more than 1 non pure player.

And you won't get any less dodgy declarations either.

Change it as soon as possible ..the game has become as boring as bat shyte and you will lose posting players by persisting with it .

You will lose more players from not getting a game than a draw.

Draws are part of cricket and any change now means the comp is not even.

Plus which players have left because of the rule change specifically?

Why not change it then? If that formation sucks anyway, no-one will use it. Give the captains more formations to choose from.
