Since this week we're not going to have, Murphy, Lappin, Kouta, Waite, Fisher etc etc etc... and we're looking down the barrel would it be wise to give Fev a week or two off to rest his knee.

My gutt feeling is Pagan will rest him.

Should we rest Fev?

I think we should bring Bryan into the team at CHF and give him the ball and let him just shoot for goal.... kinda like the Greedy Scott Lucas does at Essendon.

What ya thoughts?

Bryan should get a run sooner or later but we can't afford to rest Fevola. Resting players is a total nonsense in today's footy and unless they're approaching middle age our guys need all the run they can get. Who knows, Cats might turn up and play another shocker, we might actually have a chance of scoring four points.

I agree that Fev should be rested. There is no reason to play him injured. He has nothing to prove. Its best to let him fully recover.Last year he admitted to playing last part of season injured.I would rather he rest for a few games and then come back and play fit for the remaining games. Its a good time to experiment a little like jj's example of Bryan playing as target up front

Honestly the amount we need Fev in the years to come and how much he's paid... It's not 100% up to what Fev thinks...

Coleman or Not.. there are bigger things at stake... If I was a Carlton Doctor and there was any ounce of slight movement in Fev's knee and could be rectified by a week or two's rest than by all means I'd rule him out for that time!

I hope as much as the next Carlton man that Fev wins the Coleman... but I shudder to think of what a slightly instable knee could do to his season next year if he makes it just a little worse.

The Greater Glory of the Team here must supercede the Glory of the individual.

good luck telling him :p

And another thought....

Not having Fev may make the team be less reliant on Fev and try to find other options during a game.

It's ridiculous in this day and age of AFL that 33% of a Teams total year score is scored by 1 player.

Fev is going to be a legend... but lets not cut his career short by playing him for the sake of playing him cos he brings people through the gate.

Plus I reckon his confidence could be shot if he has to go through a couple more games having jolts of pain in his knee as he kicks, or he leads less and gets jeered by supporters for not chasing etc etc.

GO BLUES

Bugger resting Fev, he can still kick his 3 or 4 goals this week.

He has the chance to make history and win the Coleman Medal.

Most of the supporters turn up to watch Fev play anyway, if he was out, a lot of people wouldn't bother going.

Just heard that the bookies are delaying releasing the odds for the Carlton/Geelong game as they are awaiting to see if Fev will play.

So perhaps my gutt feeling about resting him may be correct?
