marc murphy and trent cotchin had down years. should be close to locks for everyone if they have ripper pre seasons, especially murphy.

will monitor toby greene- his dt potential is huge.

buddy will be next years travis cloke. no more contract issues, can focus on footy.

leuenberger and kreuzer will probably be the best rucks.

At this stage I won't be going anywhere near Murphy. Will get tagged every single game and has very little help in the middle.

He started the year in good form but he still produced some shocking scores with the tag even before his alleged injury.

Taggers seem to becoming more effective so I will be looking at premiums like Barlow, Ebert, Masten etc who have obvious tag targets alongside them.

Got to keep an eye on Murphy's pre season, it was evident very early on he was going to start poorly as it was often said he was in the rehab group at training. He also has a terrible DT game, he can get 30 touches for 100 odd DT and have his SC at 140+. Someone who requires that much of the ball to get a good DT score but is also that good with it are always risky prospects.

That being said, if he's doing everything in the pre season then I will be watching closely as he should be capable of averaging 100-105 (averaged 110 before) and for what he'll be priced at he could be a very nice buy.

Murphy is locked in already. If he is fit and after this year, his price should be really reasonable so he is a shoe in.

All assumptions are based on whether a player will be positioned in the selected position. I'm basing assumptions on where players spent time this season.

Defender: Birchall, Hanley & Ellis (if defender)

Midfield: Swan, Pendlebury, Beams, Murphy, Morabito, O'Rourke, J.Martin, Aish & M.Banner (If drafted)

Ruck: Kreuzer, McIntosh (If fit)

Forward: Dangerfield, Whitecross & Wingard

Assumption: Rockliff and Martin being made midfielders.

Wingard a definite for me. Small guy but very good overhead so will pick up plenty of points there along with a few goals and increased mid time.

Will steer clear of blues players. Mick's game plan seems to generate low DT scores. Gibbs being the exception. Murphy tempting but will resist.

S selwood locked and jobs too.
