SPEAKING OF BIGUN PLAYERS YOU SHOULD ADD THE GREAT PAUL BULGER TO THAT LIST HE TOWELLED UP MACKAY BIG TIME IN O5 SHOULD HAVE WON THE MEDAL,HOWEVER THAT OTHER BULGER THAT PLAYS FOR THE EAGLES SHOULD GO WELL IN THE MEDAL WONT GET ANY 3 CAUSE THE EAGLES WONT WIN A GAME HOWEVER IN MY OPINION IS 1 OF 2 PLAYERS FROM THE EAGLES THAT WOULD MAKE THE BEST 22 FOR REP GAMES
Good to see that you still have a good sense humour there NO 5

It's pretty tough as I've only seen a few teams. My top 5 for the league are...

1. Tom Blackford. I think this guy is a genuine gun. Hard at it and gets heps of it.
2. Keirnan Molloy. Too classy for most defenders and can kick goals.
3. Jason Hill. The guy puts in 100% every week and I think he is a great player.
4. James McNamee. I've followed him since his NBJFC days and I think he is the key to Natte. I don't think any top 5 team is so 1 player dependant.
5. Tim McKey. You can't knock a big man that leads from the front and is dangerous anything within 60m.

I think guys like Stephen Ross, Ross Waters, Clint Ladiges and Zane Bigmore need to be on their game to have an impact. The 5 rated above are week in week out consistant players.
Right on the money there Biff. I also agree with the roota in saying the courier award usually doesn't reflect who are the better players, for example Eamon Johnson got 3 votes against C/L cos he was his teams best player but probably wasn't in the top 8 on the ground after being belted by 15 plus goals.

Just had a look at the results, see what i mean King.....mentally fragile are Natte and i predicted a blowout. Looking foward to the 2nd round of games to see whos improved and who was running on a good pre season early

Yeah King i just think they aren't quite as mentally tough as the Skiptons or Rokewoods of the comp. For instance, the two sides i mentioned couldn't care less what crap Ross Waters & co dish up to them on game day they'll win the ball with no fear then laugh at that crap, on the other hand when Natte met C/L a few weeks ago the BFL rang C/L and told them concerns had been voiced by some Natte people about the safety of its players and mysteriously 4 cop cars were at the ground. I know Natte won but you can see my point.... i hope

They are rattled no doubt. Talking to a few Skipton blokes and they said Natte were about half strength but they reckon they've got their number.

Exhibit B.

Snail, weren't you wondering which Alias Natterock was using now? Notice every word starting with a Capital?

Like i said about a month ago natte just dont seem to have enough depth. The difference between skipton and Natte is Skipton have a good reserves list where as Natte struggle to field a side in the 2s and have blokes the run around with pink sweat bands. You only have to take a few blokes out of Nattes side and they'll be half strength. As stated before you're only as good as your bottom 5. A team can have all the top recruits in the world but a team will always have injuries and Natte don't seem to allow for that. ;)

The capitals came on when i clicked on go advanced so i could put some smiley faces in u Moofta. Will find out this week about the Barclay saga, but have heard a rumour that they have saked him from the club.

I think you've got way too much time on your hands Old School. Maybe spend a little less time on the computer, a little more time out there job hunting so my tax dollars don't have to feed your family.

Yes, yes detective Biff and the trade mark slagging of Natte, too easy Rossy i'll look foward to the next installment

I no the boy is only trying and i don't want 2 put you down mate, but if people are saying that Zane Bigmore is one of the best running round u would have 2 be kidding. That does not say much 4 the league. I am currently not a huge follower of the LPFL but have played in that league for 8 years and still have friends there e.g Molloy, McKay, Fletcher and so on, who are great players!!!

Well nightshifter, for starters the goal umpire was a 15 year old kid. He obviously shouldn't have gotten involved in a fight between players, but that doesn't mean an adult has the right to strike him

P.S Robbie "mad dog" Muir was once suspended for assaulting a goal umpire while wearing Illabarook colours

Thought you were innocent until proven guilty. Its not fact that an adult struck a 15 y o kid its an allegation. Also an allegation that the goal umpire was in a fight with players. I'll wait for the investigation result

The word is that some of the Natte players were off pig shooting. My take on that would be - if they put pig shooting on a higher priority than playing Skipton at this early stage of the season, it would probably be best if they stayed pig shooting.

Don't Argue may be able to bring us up to speed on this one.

Fair call there.

I don't think people from the bigger clubs would understand how hard it would be for Natte and Navarre to 'allow for depth'.

1. They would have to be smaller budget than CL, Rokewood or Skipton.
2. They are a minimum 60 mins + from Ballarat. This makes it hard to recruit guys who are going to be in and out of the 2's if they've got that far to drive. Maryborough and Stawell only have 5-8% of the population of Ballarat and a fair few teams to support.
3. Have a look at the towns. There's nothing there. It is a credit they haven't gone the way of Lansborough or Marnoo.

2008 should see them both in the MCDFL. I'm very impressed with both Navarre's and Natte's efforts in recruiting this year, but to me, it is proof that they can't keep up with the Ballarat teams.

Think you would find that Natte and Navarre would be able to buy and sell most clubs going around. Both very successful financially run clubs, lack of funds would not be the problem. I think what you mention about where the league is geographically positioned is more the point. It is hard for both clubs to attract players from where they use to. But don't be to concerned, both clubs may sruggle for depth which is important, but there is no way they will sit back and let things just tick over year after year. Success will come at some stage soon. :thumbsu:

That is some news there Wonker. Which players and who's your source? I know a number were out cropping on the weekend, but pig shooting?

Spoke to a Natte person on the phone last night. They said that to be honest Natte weren't that under done on the weekend and that Skipton were just far too good. The scary thing for Natte is a couple of there key players may miss the majority of the second half of the year with serious injury. Word on the street is; Ross, Mortlock, Quinn, Jardine and maybe McNamee may be gone.. Personally i rate Natte NO CHANCE for a flag this year now.

It will be Skipton V C/L or R/W Grand Final. The teams mentioned just have too many quality players to contend with IMO.

My man tells me J.Raynor played on Sat. and was moving very well, will give their backs a huge boost, also see todays courier and Ryans ugly Head was in the photo. Raynor, Head,Burt thats three could another be Porter? still not cleared, and think the fifth would of been Harris but we'll wait & see. I too think its a race for second between R/W & C/L but could nearly start engraving the silverware...surely the saints couldn't come from 0-4 to premiers?.Makes for an exiting second round. The pig shooters would have been the Burland sisters (Brenda & Leigh) so thats no huge loss.

This weekend is where it all gets very interesting. Skipton v CL is game of the season.

I think the Berlands are actually pretty handy players personally.
