just on this topic, does anyone know how many 'informal' votes there were at the last election. i'd be interested to know.

Looks like a Labor landslide on this poll. If only we were a representative sample...
I'd vote Labor as well, but it's a wasted vote where I live - damn that last redistribution, which moved me from a key marginal to a safe Liberal seat.

probably liberal but i couldn't really give rats ass......whoeevr is in charge will cop cr@p...

But like Bomber Spirit, I live in a very safe Liberal seat. :( Phil Ruddock's in fact.

I guess you can't help bad luck. You must be a white anglo saxon.

How could anyone vote labour after the fantastic job liberal has done. We have the best economy in the world, low unemployment and improving wealth. How could you complain about it, unless you are too young to remember 15% unemployment and 20% interest rates and no growth.

Yeah Little Johnny has done a great job:rolleyes:

Ansett - Gone
HIH - Gone
OneTel - Gone
FAI - Gone
The biggest corprate crashes in our nation's history. Thought these guys were the financial wizards (FFS they make John Cain look good).
Lil Bro's Business crashes - bailed out by Johnny

The current Govt can take little responsibility for the current local economy status other than spending cuts (Education, Health etc). The same Govt saw the AUD fall as low as $0.47 USD not that long ago. Recovery mainly a fluke due to September 11, Asian recession (which we are immune from) and SARS - which weakened other currencies and ours gained as a by product.

Some more highlights...

* Tampa scandal (Reith's lies)
* Ruddock - no need to say any more (racist politics in general)
* Refusal to acknowledge the 'stolen generation' and say sorry
* Blowing billions of dollars on Little Johnnie's war games.
* Taxes up (we are the highest taxed nation in the world)
* GST - income tax bracket creep (plus the state duties)
* The 'man of steel' running to his great & fair dinkum buddy (George W) and kissing Texan crack. How accurate was Latham's comments at the time.
* Manipulating the referrendum and questions - to ensure we stayed a monarchy
* Dr Peter Hollingworth!
* Public liabilty drama
* Cuts to Medicare
* Screwed our position in Sth East Asia - and sent our relationships back 20+ years. (eg Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore)

The list goes on and on and on

The sight of the little creep power walking in his Australian track suits and appearing at every sports event makes my skin crawl. The bloke knows as much about sports as Grant Thomas does about footy!

Doesn't really matter who I vote for (as I live in the safest Labour seat in Oz - Wills).

I didn't vote Labour last Fed election - but am happy Latham got the job today and am looking forward to him sticking the boots in to the 'Man of Steel' and knocking that annoying smirk of Costello's boof head.

<steps off the soap box>...My 2 cents worth anyway.

I'll vote for whoever is first on the ballot, although i will change that strategy if it is the greens(cant stand those righteous pricks).

If you look to make sure you are not voting green, why don't you take an extra 5 seconds and vote for the party you'd prefer to see in office? If you're avoiding the Greens don't try and say you're giving a donkey vote.

My vote: Labor although in the next election I intend to vote green with Labor preferences, just to send the mesage to labor they are not doing enough to take it up to the liberals. Very happy with today's result though (Latham).

Maybe because i couldnt give a flying **** who gets in. I don't know the first thing about politics and i don't pretend to. The reason i don't like the greens is that they are the only party in my area that shove their ideas down your throat and i don't like that. Ive got a lovely old Gray Nicholls dynadrive cricket bat waiting for the next green to knock on my door at 7 in the morning.

As opposed to having the Liberal's view shoved down your throat subliminally each morning by the Herald Sun while you eat your cereal, but that's getting a bit too "Michael Moore" for this board.
