I know it's early but has anyone heard anything in terms of the extent of Ling's cheek injury and Ablett's ankle.

How bad are the injuries?

How many weeks will Soloman get for his hit?
ps. I hope he gets at least 2 weeks (dirty ****)

who knows with a rolled ankle, it should be ok, maybe one week. But it was a 'rolled ankle' that did Ottens in the preseason.

As for Ling - will depend on x-rays, he may have a fracture, no idea he would be out for (if any time at all)

Soloman - deliberate high impact to the head. Will go straight to tribunal, no offers, expect a minimum four weeks although it will depend on Ling's injury prognosis

Richo got absolutely pole-axed with a similar injury last year - forget if it was cheek or eye socket - and played the next week.

people have said 6-7 weeks.
which i think is perfect!!

Should be 10 or more games plus loading for his past record. Deliberate, head high, maximum impact. You can clearly see he loaded up on the elbow, left his feet to deliver the blow head high and unloaded as hard as he could.

I'm told that Ling has a compressed fracture of the cheekbone and will be operated on ........... not the worst outcome but still highly unlikely to play despite a 7 day break.

Ablett scenario looks highly likely to be ligament damage which in most cases would be 2-3 weeks. It's more serious than a simple rolled ankle.

This was from "inside" the club about 30 minutes ago and they are preparing to be without one or both players for the next couple of weeks.

Sounds about right. Good opportunity to see what some of those second tier players can do against solid opposition. THey might need to do it in finals after all.

It was just reported that Ling is either a 1 week or 4+ week injury depending on whether or not the cheek bone needs to be operated on (plate put in). Said Ablett would be out for 1 week and be back for the Hawthorn game. Time will tell.

Just think; if we beat Bulldogs and Hawthorn without them it will be a huge declaration to the rest of the competition.

And you would have to think that prissie would be a certainty to come in now.

What wrries me about Ablett is thats about what they said for Ottens when he first rolled his ankle and Ottens was out for what 8 weeks?

What about Kelly? any word on his injury?

During half-time on Channel 10 the comment was;

Ling possibly 4-6 weeks depending on the severity of the injury. If depressed he could be back within a couple. If a fracture, it'll be the 4-6.

Ablett likely miss next week but should be back for the game against Hawthorn.

Timing isn't great considering the next two weeks and it is never good to lose a guy in the manner that Ling was injured however Kelly will come back in and I guess Prismall will get another crack at it.

Rooke will probably become the main tagger with Enright a possible back-up.

#### you Solowman. Freo not courageous enough to play football and now we are going to be without ling for 4-6...and they get 19 frees for the quarter!! NOT HAPPY JAN.

regards,

REB

This is one of those instances where I think there's a case for a system where a player not only serves his suspension but also soerves a further suspension equal to the time the injured bloke is out on top. To be honest there aren't too many cases ever I can think where that should apply, but this is one.

That Solomon is a Dirty, Filthy , Stinking Soft C**T !

Weak as Piss, just like his Fremantle team !:thumbsd:

I have seen the Solomon incident on replay.

Given the extent of Lings injury and Solomons record , unless he is contracted for next year , I doubt Solomon will play anoither AFL game . His attack on Lingy was cowardly but befitting of the hack player Solomon is. So bad was it , I would suggest that Ling and the Club consider sueing him for damages.

The scary thing is that Freo supporters don't seem to understand what the team is doing wrong. They think they play hard footy and are victimised somehow.

Considering ling could be missing for 4 to 6 weeks it would be an outrage to see soloman play again this year. Im sure they have systems in place for causing serious injuries that buffs up the amount of weeks soloman will be peeling oranges for his team mates.

A cowardly thug of a man and it would be fitting to end his career in disgrace though perhaps its a worse punishment to condemn him to another couple of years with his team of soft ***** who are the joke of the AFL.

i tell you what shits me - every report on tv starts with "freo hard man solomon".....har dman my f*$@n a@s. whats hard about sniping after the play? nothing. its like glassing a bloke in the back of the head - weak as p*ss. Ling will be out for 4-6 weeks. solomon's weak apology meansd jack - lowest point in his career? pre-meditated thuggery means he can take his apology and shove it.....ling should sue him for his missed matched payments......
