Will he be risked this week against Brisbane as Bartel will be in some doubt

Or will they give them an extra week to be right for our finals push

I heard Neil Balme say before that game yesterday that it was highly likely that if yesterday was a Final, both Cameron Ling and Joel Selwood would have played.

Selwood will be back for sure, Ling, maybe. No halm in resting him though.

We should still beat the lions by 4-6 goals.

Play them both - Ling and Selwood. We've had our week of "resting" players (Selwood definitely, Ling to an extent) and look what happened.

No mercy this week. Go up there with as close to a full strength side as possible and smash Brisbane into little pieces. Aim for at least a 10 goal victory.

Totally agree,cannot go into the finals losing 2 in a row.I think that Bartel will play also,as his illness is not something that can get worse,he might be a bit sore but no worse than playing with a headache.

I was about to start a thread regarding Lings injury.

Apparently it was tightness in the hammy. If he plays he will probably play about 75% of the game, half as a tagger half in the forward line. We are a much better team when he’s in.

While we should be playing to win, we may be better off going with a side that isn't quite as good as it could be.

In this regard, I'm talking about max Rooke, who would normally get another week in the seconds, but a) after so long out, he will need at least one week to get used to the seniors pace and it is better to do this in a match where the result doesn't matter and b) I'm not sure he is eligible to play in the magoos this week.

I think Rooke coming in at the expense of Byrnes or Varcoe is still a dramatic improvement. His attack on the ball and tackling alone changes this in our favour. No problems with Rooke coming in at all.

There are 4 guys I want in the seniors - Bartel, Ling, Selwood, Rooke. You could easily dump Playfair and Byrnes. Hopefully Varcoe. After that I'm not sure. Maybe David Johnson for Rooke (although I didn't think he was our worst).

How does our team look with those changes? Slightly better I think.
