I, self-proclaimed fashion-unconscious, have been called upon to upgrade my image. One point is these little socks. I thought it was just a gal thing, but now I notice blokes are wearing them too.

I'm against them because they just seem to me to be a bit silly in the trendy stakes, for yuppies and so on. But pressure is being brought to bear against me.

So, fellers, what's the story with these short socks that you almost can't see? Is it the way to go now, or do they have a bad name on the blokey front? Is it good fashion, or is it a sort of trendy young feller thing like pokin' your jocks out the top of your dacks?
 
I'm not the one to ask. Only wear socks when working (no choice) and stopped being fashion concious about the time of the paisley era.
Never did find out what happened to that pastel mauve mohair jumper I had. I suspect somebody made an executive decision.:(

How long has it been? What happened to tennis socks. I only noticed women start to wear them a few years ago, and only noticed blokes wearing them about 6 weeks ago!

Tellya what Mobs, next time I meet you, I'm going to wear knee-high tube socks with blue and yellow stripes around the top, pulled all the way up, of course.

To go with them, I'll make sure I find the absolute tightest shorts possible. They have to have that split on the side too so you can see more of my pasty white thighs.

Oh yeah, and I'll top the whole thing off with sandals.
 
Been goin' on for at least 6 years now I'd think. I always wear them when I wear shorts, of course shorts means those that go past your knees, which is possibly something else you may need to bring into your wardrobe, not that I want to cast aspersions upon your dress sense or anything. ;)

Stealth, thank you for the offer! I only went as far as tennis socks, they're never pulled up and I never wear sandals.

So it IS seeming that in the argument of changing over to new-age socks, everyone thinks I should bite the bullet?

Bugger, 'cause they just don't seem right to me. Looks like SNAG apparel!
 
sign of the times - the shorts are getting longer and the socks are getting shorter.......

BTW just don't wear socks or shoes at all, thats what i do.

I think I am only one of the people around that walking into the shopping centre barefooted. I cant imagine what people are thinking of me.


(I once played a cricket match barefooted too... fielding of course ..)

For me they're perfect because i hate wearing socks.
My Colorado's stink from wearing them sockless, now its ankle socks all the way.

I'd think you are seriously unaware of how many glass products are broken in shopping centres, particularly supermarkets.
 
I'm a shoe man. Doin't like to get dirty feet. When I can't be bothered socking it when I go somewhere, I just wear my grampa slippers from K-Mart.

Yeah, I love ankle socks. They're so much lighter and look so much less dorky :p Our teachers hate us wearing them at school, but no girl with any fashion sense wears anything other than ankle socks :D

Oh, and Luke, why don't you buy some more shoes then ;) Surely you have more than one pair :p
 
Little socks are only for chicks...especially the socks with little pom poms.

Baltic European tourists in holiday resorts who wear socks with sandals .....ffs, the humanity.

Tube socks are good - no heel. You look like a heel, but no heel.

I don't always do it.
Normally wear thongs.
Depending if I can find them ....

But I have never seen or run into broken glass before :)
