sp-mac said:As for something I would've liked to have seen I reckon Oasis doing Don't look back in Anger would've been great with the patriotic British crowd.

don't they know MOST OF US DON"T have CABLEYep I was glad to see them because before they came on there was about 40 mins of rap and dance type stuff that i don't like. Snoop dog, Will Smith etc.. That kind of stuff. So when Snow Patrol came on they kind of got me interested again.Ray Nolan said:Geldof wanted Oasis to be in it but they had a gig in Manchester on the same night that they couldn't really cancel.
Did anyone see Snow Patrol? I went to bed before they came on and I missed 'em.![]()
I'm not a fan however that guy with the Tats is a fantastic singer. As I've already said singing live is different to singing in a studio and that bloke gave it everything he had and i thought his voice was awesome. As for the other bloke who does the rap parts well.......why spoil what could be a good band. I say they could be a good band mainly because of that lead singer. What a voice. To manage to get that much power out of your voice in front of 250,000 people or whatever it was in an open air concert.....pretty special. Compare his voice to that of Pete Doherty I think his name is. That bloke that butchered Children of the Revolution with Elton John. Man, now that was crap singing. Elton sung crap to i thought.Cheer Red Blood said:Any comments on Linkin Park?

Angus1 said:I had better mention Keith Urban. They showed one song of his which is his latest single. He performed it flawlessly and didn't seem overawed by the crowd at all. He seemed like a natural out there actualy. Good to see an Aussie up on the big stage in front of the world and do us proud.
Tina Arena on the other hand was on stage with Craig David and for some strange reason they did a silly version of Come Together. I felt a bit sorry for Tina as this didn't suit her at all and Craig David tried to steal the limelight and kept adding his own silly parts to the song. He even added a rap verse to the song which was just horrendous. These 2 just didn't work well together and the song was terrible and done in a terrible way. Don't change a classic especially when the original isn't that good anyway.

He sung the first verse then the chorus then moved into Let me Entertain You.
Could not agree more. Channel 9's "highlights" was more like 2 hours of ads with bits of Live8 here and there. It was a hack job.sp-mac said:The channel 9 highlights were crap and anybody who saw it let me tell you it is not a true representation of what was a great nights viewing on pay.
Didn't show bands that kicked ass (eg Greenday) and showed some of the worst songs in each set that were played (eg Robbie Williams)
I'm just glad I hooked up to foxtel 3 months ago in time to see it all.
I hope for the sake of people without Fox that a full 10 hour DVD is released of the event.

Has the best voice for an "ageing" star by a long way.
