This actually assisted the WAPOL argument, they needed him to use the Narrows Bridge to get home to suit their timings. Other routes were taken and none were able to fit within their time line. So they were able to run with this theory and not have CCTV footage to "dis-prove" it, however without the CCTV it further weakened what was already largely circumstantial evidence.
The real issue with WAPOL's version of events is that it had to meet a very small and specific criteria for it to work.
