As much as I hated Lloyd as a player and loved getting stuck into him, I've found him to be quite a reasonable commentator/analyst. Seems a whole lot quicker to notice improved players/changed tactics than some of the old-timers. He's surprised me positively since retiring.

Agreed, he still has Don coloured glasses when commenting on his own team but he is reasonably fair when analysing other clubs. .. I thought he was one of the first ones to start talking us up and doing it in a considered manner. ..
