I just wanted to say that the win last night was a big lockdown boost and exactly what was needed to lift spirits. This season is a weird one and I am finding it hard to fully engage (4:40pm on a Thursday anyone?). Having said that, to see Joe out there smiling, a gritty come from behind win has really made a positive impact on my mood today.

I also enjoy spending just as much (if not more) of the entire duration of the game trawling through the Hawthorne board/main board comments. I apologise to any Hawke fan reading this, as I don’t want to make your lockdown any worse, but the schadenfreude that I experienced was equal parts enjoyable as it was disturbing.

Anyway, I’m not sure if this is thread worthy or not, but I just wanted to share some lockdown love to every one out there struggling. :).

My favourite poster is a Hawthorn moderato who I am not allowed to name.

There was a lot of love last night, definitely.

One thing I noticed is that at various stages (mostly in the second half, of course), every one of our forwards was laughing. Daniher, Hooker, Stringer, Stewart, Tippa, Mozzie. JD plays happy and I think it's very infectious, plus there's Hooker's obvious positivity - he celebrates every goal like it's an after-the-siren prelim final winner. Stewart would just be rapt to be out there. and Mozzie is obviously happy type.

I like a happy forward line. It means we're getting the ball in there quickly, which forward lines love.

I mostly liked the part where we didn’t draw or lose.

So infectious, I caught it too. There's been some highlights this season, but I feel last night was the first time I truly enjoyed myself. Got slightly emotional watching the boys hug each other.

My favourite part was when Hawthorne posters came on here at HT and acted like flogs and then we smashed them.
