just have to keep your fingers crossed that Darling, Richardson, Tapscott, Matera and Zac Smith are all best 22 in round 5, or you could have donut city.

Not that most of us wont be in the same boat anyway. The sub rule is going to destroy scores this year. Effectively, with 16 teams, and 2 subs each team, there are 32 players every round that need to be avoided. Its impossible. Multi-bye rounds + injuries + subs will see DT scores drop off massively this year. Anything over 1950 each round will be above par. Vent thread is going to cause these forums to melt down.

Spot on. I can't believe there wasn't more complaining about the sub rule in the pre season. The whinging this year is going to be incredible!

Was including the entire squad for the bye team assuming they have a relatively fixed best 21. (and not a MBR). Basically we agree on the same calculation, i'm just putting down the scarier no.

The scariest number is clearly this:

32 + 22 x 3 = 98

Thats 'only' 5 rounds of the year and potentially not all 32 'victims' of the sub rule will be duds each week but still it will be very interesting. Luck will play a much bigger role this year wrt the sub rule.

Went for a pretty standard team with a few midpricers. I wasn't sold on the job security of a lot of the rookies, and felt more comfortable picking players that I knew were going to get games. Traded Curnow out of the team at the last minute for Tom Liberatore - facepalm.

If Yarran doesn't get much of the ball against GC next week, then I'll consider trading him down to a rookie that I've had a better look at.

Stanton was my first picked player. Either he's going to rip it up this season and I'll keep him, or if he underperforms then I'll ditch him for Ablett after round 9 - meaning no byes for that position.

Wasn't sold on Deledio, and although he improved his scores in the second half, I'm glad I didn't pick him. Same goes for Daniel Connors.

I didn't go for many DP links in my starting team. I wasn't sold on Prestia or Isaac Smith as FWD/MID links or Hibberd, Buckley etc as BAC/MID links. I will trade the DP links in later in the year as they're needed. Started Krakouer in the mids and will trade in Mzungu/Callinan/Prestia to link with him later on.
