1) Was James bulger r*ped? I don't remember hearing any such thing in the media.

2)Why would prison authorities have knowledge of the transfer. From my understanding the english kids are now free men so any transfer deal would be more akin to a witness protection program rather than a prisoner exchange. Wouldn't it be more likely that it was law enforcement who would have control of the supposed transfer?

I would have thought that Foreign Affairs, or the Immigration Dept would be the people with the handle on that.

Yeah, you're right, probably foreign affairs/immigration in control with assistance with law enforcement.

Its just strange that so many people (especially a newspaper) would place so much faith on an email without questioning its supposed facts. I know the sofia case is sad, but how is mass hysteria going to solve anything?

To me the email seems to be a rant at the Government, the justice system and liberal minded people. It uses the method of most famous hoaxes: mix a little fact to increase its believability

Yes - that the was the initial identikit picture of the suspect that was released to the media.

Nothing like what Arthurs actually looks like so not sure what happened there.

I'm not keen to get into the argument, but I have difficulty with the notion of a ten year old being sentenced to life without parole.

99.99999% of the time i'd agree with you.

But the murder of James Bulger was so extreme. As i said, it was the most horrific murder case i've seen which has made it into the main stream media. I was only 9 when it happened and i remember it vaguely, but i also remember thinking how feral like it was and why would anyone do that to someone. even at 9 i knew how wrong it was. And the older you get and look back on it....... it just gets worse.


Back to the Dante being Thompson issue. The most likely situation was that it wasn't Thompson and it looks as though that is the case, which is probably a good thing because it would mean theres loads of explaining to be done if it were him. On the other hand, its a bad thing because it means there two sick twisted freaks out there (well three actually if you include Venables). But still doesn't change my view that the real problem is it shouldn't even be a chance of being Thompson as he should still be in prison.

The one thing that makes me feel better is that wherever Rob Thompson and Jon Venables are, and whatever they do, there will not be a single day that goes by when they don't think about that day in 1993 when they decided to kill a 3-year old in the most brutal way possible. That will haunt them till the day they die. One day when they are grandparents (if that occurs) they will look at their three year old grand daughter and grand son and have to think of what they did to 3-year old James Bulger all those years ago.

I know we want to see some retribution in terms of prison and punishment for criminals, which i'm all for and think it should be harsher than what it currently is. But in the case of Thompson and Venables the above is punishment they'd (hopefully) be living every day. And then they've got hell to look forward too. If they weren't living that punishment than they are truly soulless sick individuals.

There is a rumour going around that this Arthurs bloke is one of the two that killed the Bulger boy when they were ten. I sincerely hope this isn't the case. If it is, heads better ****ing roll.

For what its worth this ''rumour'' still has legs within the corridors of court and prisoner security . Even going so far as to say its been confirmed.
