I hope we don't win another game in 2003.

So what can we get out of winning matches. Nothing. We can not make the eight so why win games when we have an oppurtunity to use the AFL rules to our advantage and throw the rest of the season, Rest the injured while playing the kids. Pick up a top 2 draft pick and a priotiy draft pick and rebound for next season.

2002 was a desaster.

But 2001 we weren't that far away. With 2 picks in the top ten in the draft up for grabs I would be happy to see us lose the every game for the rest of the season. What do you all think of that. It makes a lot of sense when you consider our salary cap problems.

First get someone who will pick the right kids. Maybe we should vote for CJH at the next AGM.

Bring on 2003 fast.

Going by the title I thought this thread was going to be about Joel Bowden. lol

I think it's better to play the young blokes, give them responsibility, see what they've got and cop whatever result comes your way on the day.

My feeling is that we are actually better off trading for top picks this year, thereby clearing out some of the deadwood and shifting the emphasis in our list.

I hate doing anything else but winning. I don't think tanking games to finish last will engender the kind of culture that will see us strike for a premiership.

I would much rather have a spirited second half to the season and see us just miss on the finals than finish a pitiful and embarrasing last.

Besides, more than anything, I wan't to see Carlton suffer. Die you horrid, scumsucking pigs!

I agree Deano...I don't think you're saying we should tank it...the point is moot now anyway...i think Carlton will go on with it now leaving us the first two picks...shame is there aren't any Hodges or Balls available...not as good anyway ! Bowdo and Tivvers are going to have to pick up the mirror and have a good look.
We fielded a good squad tonight.

Fiora : good. Coughlan was great, bit worried about Rodan but we'll see, Newman ; terriffic, Ednie : great hands..Pettifer ; terriffic... Zantuck : good. Hyde : ok ........

Sziller, Rogers should go out (permenantly) for Stafford and Chaff. Cameron on thin ice. Richo was ****e.

From all your trolling against the Carlton members on BigFooty, this win makes it even more sweeter. :p

No offense to the other Richmond supporters, for this is only directed to TheFoxhat, and it's pretty obvious why.

See? This is what I mean about the victory being even more sweeter. Not because of the upset Richmond fans, not because I give supporters a hard time, it's because of your previous Carlton trolling.

Hmmm... sure looks like it! And no, I'm not a troll, because I never take the time to gloat about teams performing badly, when it's darn obvious that you shouldn't need to. A troll is someone who sprouts mindless jargon which serves no purpose. Sure, you have a right of reply, but the thing is, you weren't exactly replying, you were stirring (or annoying) Blues supporters after two heartbreaking losses, and when your rants were so damn obvious anyway, they shouldn't be constant, or they are annoying.

It was all pointless really... and I'm just reminding you that these sort of things can bite you back on the ass. If you don't like it, then suffer in your jocks, trollboy.

well Thrawn speaking of trolls what ever happened to Carlton_Is Cool?? :p :D.anyway I think it would be really stupid to tank games and as if we would also winning the spoon would be so awful.I can't wait till we can win agian.

Don't know what ever happened to him, but he wasn't a Carlton supporter. He stated that he went for Fremantle with his "God" alias, and has a Melbourne one which probably got booted.

To be honest, I wish you guys good luck in the future. I have always respected the Tigers due to their emotion and their fighting spirit (except for last year ;)) and I'd like to see them do better next year. It'd be really good if Carlton and Richmond were in the 8 next year, for we'd get 80,000 to the gates easily, and it'd be a slog-out! Richmond and Carlton matches always have that extra zing of emotion, due to our rich history as rivals. It would be great for the competition if these two teams started dominating again like in the 70's. ;)

Bad luck guys, you were pretty unlucky to lose, obviously could have gone either way. Coughlan looks a gun for the future and Pettifer looks good too, Hickmott learnt you can't give him too much latitude.

As for the Foxhat, my heart bleeds.........
