"I was born into a life of confusion and frustration, a life of upset and despondency, a life of tears. I was born a Geelong supporter."

How many here have read John Harms' fantastic book "Loose Men Everywhere" ? It is not a new book, but one I often find myself thinking about.

This book genuinely made me laugh and cry. It brought back so many memories of what it meant to be a Geelong supporter, especially in the '90s.

I'd encourage every Cat fan to get hold of this book. It is beautifully written and very funny. A great yarn about life and the club we love.

quoting the age review:

The Cats emerge from the book as a metaphor for life. They excite, they depress; they build up hopes, they fail to deliver; perhaps more than any other, they're the team of laughter and tears.

Yep read it couple of months ago

If you like the work of cats fan John Harms, you should listen to radio 3RRR FM on Saturday mornings. He co-presents a show at 9:00am called "Run Like You Stole Something". It's a quirky overview of all things sporting, and gives Harmsy the chance to do as much passionate Geelong flag-waving and hand-wringing [he seems to get as much out of the disappointments as the successes] as possible. If you're not based in Melbourne, you can still get a webcast on rrr.org.au.

I'm very familiar with RRR - my wife is a presenter on the station. :)

I should listen to Harmsy on Sat mornings... but 9.00am is usually a little tough for me.
