Seriously channel 9 has to stop wheeling him out every Sunday.

It has become embarrassing for what a great footballer of his time and a legend in football broadcasting.

leave lou alone.

Every time that familiar handball tune comes on a Lou says "its gonna be a ringa ding ding" i cant help but laugh. He is the funniest person on the Sunday football show, and taking him off the program would make more viewers unhappy than happy.

Long live Lou the LEGEND!! :thumbsu:

I'm scared he will die on the set

They will cross to him and he will be asleep , well look like hes asleep. :(

Lou you have done well out of the game and you will be remembered always, just dont let it be as a doddering old fool

As long as that poor imitation of Lou is still in the media: Rex Hunt, then Lou will always have a place. He could even do a 'weekend at bernie's' scenario and still come across better than Hunt.

Lou was a legend. That's why they should retire him. It's becoming embarrassing to watch him. What's worse is that it seems he there solely to be the butt of "What an old fart" jokes and he doesn't even know it which compounds the 'joke'. For instance today Tony Jones (aka dlckhead) taking the piss after Lou mumbled his way through Rocca's prizes (which they don't actually get).

Thats my point. They seem to be taking the piss out of what seems to be some sort of mild dementia. That is not how he should be remembered.

Lou's never cared what people think of him. He's an entertainer and it doesn't matter whether people are laughing with or at him.

How funny was it when he said, "Hairhouse Warehouse" and he comes out with 'Whorehouse'..... Cracker!

Shame 'telefunken' dont give away TV's on TSFS anymore, used to crack up every time Lou said it. I'm pretty sure it came out slightly different on many occasions, only Lou could get away with it.

classic :D

He still comes out with some classic lines but it's getting a little sad at times. Perhaps this should be his last year on TSFS, give him a massive send off in their grand final edition. If they don't he might not be around when the next footy season starts.

The poor old bugger, I was reading an article a while back and he said, now the Edna is in a home, he is lonely and going on the show perks him up. I reckon the media need to put together, a huge this your life, documentary, of all the living footballers from his era and do an hour or two doco. For any budding television researcher, here is an opportunity for a Bradmanisc retrospective. Also an opportunity to share with the young football audience what football meant in those days, not only the game but within the community. He would have connections all over Australia.

Remember his connection to CFC goes back to Panama, the founding of the club. My god, imagine the memorabilia there is, to use for research purposes. Surely there were lots of Rich Bas$%ds who have film footage of the 40's-50's.

I've met Lou a number of times when he came into my Dads shop, and he was always telling jokes. He is so short, I'm only 5ft 2" and I could talk to him eye to eye.

ditto malteaser.
lou is a legend and if this is the highlight of his week then keep him on for as long as he can keep coming on. grab a copy of all the old world of sport highlights and see him in action. this is when personalities WERE personalities. lou was never the greatest player collingwood has seen but he's done more for the pies, football and tv than eddie mcguire has done. how sour would the panel be if it was just tony jones, frawley, larkins, billy and say taylor every week. jesus christ, they all think they're funny, witty and have very important things to say. they will not be remembered in yeras to come. jones and brownless are w***ers that like to take a cheap shot at a pensioner, easy target, we're not laughing at your jokes boys, we're laughing at you because you think people think you're funny. why don't you take part in an auskick game like garry lyon a couple of years ago and hip and shoulder the kids to the ground because they are also easy targets.
louie the lip will always be remembered.
