Another random game I plucked out of Paul's AFL tables, and i was chancing a look at Adrian Gallagher's career, and saw that he played in a draw in his 2nd game.

Now that draw was quite a fascinating scoreline, with Princes Park seemingly having an old style Western Oval gale blowing down one end, as the scores show as follows.

Teams___________1/4 time______1/2 time_____3/4 time______Final Score
Carl.........................6.5.41.............7.6.48...........11.13.79..........11.13.79
Coll..........................0.3.3...............8.3.51............8.4.52............12.7.79

So for the entire game, just 1.5.11 was kicked to the non-scoring end, whilst 22.15.147 was kicked at the other end!
One goal by the Blues in the second quarter being the only time the goal umpire at that end got to raise both fingers. Pretty amazing stat line when I just happened to click onto the game just for the sake of it more than anything else. Probably not too many on here who'd recall the match give it was 62 seasons ago, but fascinating nonetheless in my mind.

There were some very low scores in other games, and conditions were probably pretty poor elsewhere. For example:

Climate Data Online reveals that from 9am Saturday 8 August to 9am Sunday 9 August that year the maximum temperature in Melbourne was 10.5 Celsius, and the small amount of rainfall was about 1.5mm

That strong wind that affected the scoring ends was undoubtedly a bit chilly !
