Luke Ball's Kicking?

Kicking isnt his strongest asset but he isnt a bad kick his just alot better inside giving out a quick handball

I think our gameplan where we have the high interchange turnovers will really be good for his game

The link to footywire doesn't include kicking efficiency or TOG.

Got it from the Latest AFL Prospectus, Do you know where that info would come from?

Any DE is going to be effected by the number of front running, outside receiving jibbs that St.Kilda have.

When was the last time you saw Dal 'fodil' Santo, Montagna or Gram lay a block or shepherd for a team mate.

Luke Balls' depth in his kicking has looked to have decreased and his DE seems to have become increasingly poorer since his named followed the words "Pick 30... Collingwood" by Andy D on draft day.

Sure you are looking at the tackles column Dave? He didn't get 10 tackles against us, he got 3 and 3

Well he did have Double Digit Tackle Games

If you look at those stats posted of Ball's 2009 season, you can see he handballs more then he kicks, in more games then not anyway.

Ball is an in and under player, who unlike some outside mids who get their kicks under little pressure, has to dispose of the ball under pressure almost all the time, lowering his efficiency straight away.

Ball will have plenty of helpers this year around him to "dish" the ball off to, as well as inside support from Swan, O'Bree and the youngsters in Sidebottom and Beams.

He will fit in perfectly to our midfield, I have no doubts, and while he isn't the greatest kick in league football, I'd say he's in the same class as Swan and O'bree, in that it may not look pretty sometimes, but it usually effective in helping his team.:)

Sure he is no Nathan Buckley at kicking but nobody is at Collingwood.

I seriously think his so called "bad-kicking" is made more of a big deal than it really is.

I guess time will tell and im sure next year around round 5 we will be discussing this for either the right or wrong reasons... hopefully the right reasons:thumbsu:

See when his DE was lowest this year??? 2nd and 4th worst games were against Collingwood, he must've already wanted to come to the Pies back then, he was already kicking it to next years team mates! :D
Tackle counts are very impressive given that he is also getting reasonable amounts of the ball, I guess you'd expect that from an inside mid though.
