Tell me - what is wrong with him? Beaten by Jeff White last week, and beaten by David Hille again tonight. On the radio they said he had not taken a contested mark in the first three rounds which I find amazing for a player who is highly rated like him.

He usually struggles against White, and Hille just happened to play the game of his life. But with 24 touches, 7 marks and winning the hit-outs, I don't think it's time for alarm bells just yet.

He's generally a slow starter (missing a couple of matches during the pre-season didn't help) - he'll hit peak form around mid- season.

To see a guy like Hille run around free and kick 4 is embarassing. Was he expecting Grant to pick him up?
This exactly what I mean about leadership! None shown here.

Spot on Chops, I have made a few similar comments in recent weeks about Darcy's form / leadership. At times recently he looks as if he thinks he is too good to put in and be accountable. He is the key player for us IMO, he can set the standard for the day. If Darcy is aggressive, the younger blokes will follow. He, more than anyone on the team needs to set the example. If that means he has to tighten up, rather than go kick chasing then so be it!

He is a brilliant player, playing poorly. Obviously there is a lot of pressure on him being one of the only big men in the team but we really need to him to show his true colours and set the standard for the team where it matters most; in the middle.

Maybe he should play a role in the backline like Wyndy used to? Darcy has always been more of the forward type but perhaps he can run himself into a bit of form and take a few contested marks down back to help the other blokes. Either that or play Darcy deep in the forward line for a significant period of the game and let Bandy do some around the ground work.

Maybe darce is being told to play off the other ruckman simlpy because we need his height elsewhere? If darce followed hille around everywhere, he would have beat him, but would we miss him through the centre? need better talls across half forward to give us more options. come on down skipper!

If Bruton has a good game today he'll come in next week, Darcy to CHF and Bandy to CHB.

Brutes played pretty good today, but i dont think hes ready for senior footy just yet,hes played some good footy lately but i think give him more time at werribee, if we really need him then bring him in but if not then leave him there for a bit.

He was good in the centre square in the first half. But apart from that, he was pretty poor. He is playing like someone who just expects it to happen. And his complete refusal to punch when caught behind in a marking contest (if he even bothers to contest), is a real worry.

But probably the most frustrating part of his game at the moment is what he does when he gets the ball around the ground. He either ignores every lead and waits - before picking a poor option (which is Bandy's problem too), or he blindly plays on without even looking to see if there is anyone to go to. His disposal and decision making have both been poor.

Please, that is complete crap. Darcy is the best ruckman in the AFL and is not going to be moved to CHF because Hille pulled a good game out of his asse for the first time in his life. Further more he is not going to be EVER replaced in the ruck by Nick Bruton

Most of u spend half the time ****ing youre pants over how good Darce is then he has 1 or 2 (arguably) bad games and u won't him to change position or tactics, or even worste u start to question his leadership

My thoughts were more that if Bruton could compete at the centre bounces, Darcy could give us a big body up forward.

Bandy is actually the one I think is struggling who I would like to see at CHB.

A first gamer would only spend half the game on the ground, Darcy would still spend most of the game in the ruck. Skipper or Bowden could play minutes at CHF while Darcy is rucking but at this stage neither could hold down CHF.

I don't think for a second Bruton could do the job in the ruck that Darcy does, he may be able to do a job that allows us to strengthen other parts of the ground where we have obvious problems.
