Slap on the wrist with a wet lettuceHe did to the backbench and with senior Nationals threatening his pre-selection in New England possibly all the way out of the Parliament.
Out of curiosity, is Jonno a campaigner (Victorian, so never heard of him before)?
Primary vote isn't an instructive measure on a two party basis when you have a strong third candidate.No. Are you?
You’re wrong. Labor’s primary vote went down in Wagga. They finished third in first preferences and didn’t even make the two candidate preferred runoff. Labor didn’t trounce anyone in Wagga.

They picked up a “huge” 2PP swing in which they weren’t the second party. Almost every other candidate also picked up a huge 2PP swing, because it was a rejection of the corrupt former member from the Liberal party, not because they had belief in the Labor party or any other candidate.Primary vote isn't an instructive measure on a two party basis when you have a strong third candidate.
Labor picked up a huge swing on 2PP vs the Liberals, which is the measure that will count when it comes to who forms government in March. I'd have thought that would be obvious to anyone.
I wouldn't ignore the extent to which the NSW labour was on the nose. There's really no indication that it's fundamentally changed. Foley can now be consigned to history, but to be he wasn't they guy for the job anyway.Primary vote isn't an instructive measure on a two party basis when you have a strong third candidate.

Eight years is a long time but I'm not certain it's long enough. I think we will see a strong minor party and independent vote, and some version of a hung parliament.
Is their any other occupation that allows alcohol at lunch break ? OHS is ignored when running the country ?
This. The last Federal leader they produced was Latham.NSW ALP seems a different beast to the rest.
Plenty.Watched his replacement on insiders today and enjoyed a lot of what he said but not really convinced it rings true...
Funniest bit was when he got questioned about being drunk in parliment 6 years ago and the response was " he learnt lesson and has teetotal since "
So these people running the country drink alcohol for lunch during Parliament time.....

Must be a white collar thing.Plenty.
Banking, Treasury Ops, Advertising, Insurance, maybe 100,000 assorted salespeople.
I dont think our parliament houses around the nation have a monopoly on a few glasses of wine at lunch.
Are you suggesting a minor amount of alcohol isnt good for business ?
Not my world but I believe what you say is trueMost office jobs, I would have thought? Ever been in a pub on a Friday for lunch?
Getting drunk at lunch is less common, but certainly for people in events etc who might attend lunch functions it's definitely a thing.

Gladys will shit it in next year. No real choice in NSW.
Foley abandons his defamation case:

Think he should change his name to Fool-ey.
Has cost his party votes.
Colour me surprised.
Wonder how many Labor figures lined up to advise him in the strongest possible terms to finally do the right thing here.
Having consulted a number of lawyers who told him he didn't have a case, acknowledging this and dropping the threat is not "doing the right thing."
At the very least, if politicians are going to beat up on dole recipients and introduce drug testing, they should have to be tested too.Watched his replacement on insiders today and enjoyed a lot of what he said but not really convinced it rings true...

The war on drugs has always been a reason 2 violate the lower class or wateva group the establishment don't like of the timeAt the very least, if politicians are going to beat up on dole recipients and introduce drug testing, they should have to be tested too.
They both draw on the public purse. No real difference as far as I can see. Why should pollies be exempt?
