Another down performance against Essendon and this time it was not from being tagged. His opponents were simply too quick for him.

I didn't pick him up early but he was one I had planned to bring in at some stage, now I am not too sure at any price.

Are you bringing him in? Will you keep him if this goes on? Are there any other factors which might be contributing to his extended form slump?

Adductor strain apparently. Might miss a few weeks like Ablett. I will be keeping him, wish i had of got Mackie instead though...

well as this season progresses my sc team is looking a hella lot better then my dt and not having hodge in my sc team is one of those reasons he very well may come good as the season progress but for the first 7 rounds he's been very poor and if he's injured which it looks like then he may not be back till near the mid season break so yeah trade him out while you can i reckon

Pathetic performances, this is the last time I'm putting up with it. My rookies are scoring better than him! I can't believe I took Lockyer out for Hodge in the last second, I'm such a loser!

Like GrandBlue, I made a last minute decision to replace Lockyer with Hodge. Probably my worst decision this season.

Despite his poor performances, I have kept him in my team as I don't want to waste a trade on a sidewards move. However, I am now questioning how much longer I can hold such a poor performer for?

I'll stick with him for now - it would be very frustrating to drop him, crystalise the loss in his value, and then see him average 100+ for the rest of the year (as unlikely as that currently seems)!

I've had him since the start too, and copped his shit scores all season. Now he's going to be out injured, and I have no playing bench-warmers. I'll be ****ed if I'm going to cop a zero to keep this shit ****** in my team any longer.

I hate you Luke Hodge.

Picked him up this week :thumbsd:

He got destroyed by monfries when he was playing in the backline and just couldnt find the pill in the foward line. Actually looked good when playing midfield, got 4 touches in the space of 5 or so minutes. Hopefully Clarko moves him back there but his abductor injury might be impeding his ability to play midfield

Was looking to get him in next week for Petrenko. Will now turn my sights onto Enright and Scotland, considering I got in Mackie this week, and already have Fisher. Embley also too injury prone for my liking.

He was tagged last night, by Monfries and it was a very hard tag, so hard that they were forced to move Hodge forward.

I think the adductor strain is a smokescreen for his bad form, and they may just give him 2 weeks off to get his head right. I mean seriously how many ****ing adductor injuries have you heard of before this week?!?

Anyway, like the guys above, my season has been ruined by the Lockyer>Hodge move. Stupid increased salary cap.

yeah, thank god I stayed off him. The hawks covered up the fact that he was carrying a niggle very well. I didn't hear anything anyway. Was a bees dick away from upgrading Houlihan for him but decided to take a risk and go with a not so popular defender who I'm hoping is in the middle of his break out season.

Hodge will come good

Last night he started at CHB. This means he has to play with a defensive mindset. Last year he had Gilham and Croad holding down key defensive positions and he had the licence to do what he wanted. Right now he is probably instructed to play very defensive. Gilham should be back in one or two and hopefully that will free him up...

You can even say that Mackie is in a similar boat with no Tom Harley. With Tom Harley back this week Mackie will start to score even better than he already is.

Just my opinion....

Not sure why people picked hodge. Was his price the only reason??
Mackie was a bargain last week, when i picked him up, and with harley coming back he should only improve.

i definitely think he is carrying something. However itis fair to say his kicking wasn't affected last night- he still did a couple of beauties over 50m. so it isn't as severe as say ball's or judd's or even his own injuries from years past

however to say he copped a hard tag is a nonsense. Monfires played as a genuine forward who tried to create - and hodge couldn't stick with him. a hard tag would be one were you just want to take the opponenet out of the game, however monfries was very focussed on getting the pill himself. hodge was just completely outplayed

i'm sure many picked hodge from the start

i too picked up mackie last week - was deciding between him, hodge and fisher. the extra $30-$40k sold it for me,
plus the fact they were playing melbourne and harley was rumoured to be back soon

Hodge was visibly hindered by injury last night BB, watch him around the ball in the third quarter. I don't know if he brought the injury into the game or whether he suffered it last night, but he's definitely having mobility problems.

Exactly my thinking also :thumbsu:

Backline of:

Goddard
Cornes
Lockyer
Mackie
Burgoyne
Drummond
Suban

Looking almost complete now

As someone said it a few weeks ago:
Luke Hodge can suck my bodge.

I mean what the &$^%. 4th lowest score on the whole field.
Not good enough.
Zaharachis scored 97. 97!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When the ($*$ is he gunna come good?

Think I'll keep him hopefully Petrenko/Suban/Broughton can provide good cover. I'm sick of waiting for Raines so I'll bring in Mackie for him this week.

I don't know why ANYONE would have Hodge in dream-team.

He's got 6 of his mates out from defence, replaced with kids. He did basically no pre-season, having battled this "adductor strain" now for 6 months. Rest during the week, and playing games isn't working - he's gone from 'fit' in the GF, to running pre-season, jogging by rd.2, and this week was struggling to even get into a jog.

Wouldn't suprise if he had 6 weeks off - but with our defence decimated, it's been a case of damage control to keep us competitive.

I only hope we dont burn Rioli out by over-extending him all season.

Glad I didn't pick him up for Houlihan this week. So far not happy I picked Mackie instead. Oh well I'll let it slide for one week, plus its the Sydney effect too...
