Surprised there isn't a thread about him already.

If you were like me, you ignored all the 'he's underdone, he's carrying 90 points over, Hawks have a tough run, etc' talk and went with your gut and paid top dollar for him and have had him since the start of the year. BIG mistake :o

With scores of: 57, 83, 104, 90, 115, 79 and 45 last night, he's averaging a whopping 82...and now there's word of him having groin problems. That probably explains his lack of scores and if you've watched him play he's nowhere near the player he usually is.

Tooserious sees him come down to 485k this week and if he hsould keep his average for 2 weeks he'll be ripe for the pickings at 415 give or take.

Is he a bargain at this price or is it Andy Mcleod all over again? Anyone with him thinking of getting rid of him? Anyone who doesnt have him want to bring him in or are you steering clear?

Don't have him, won't get him and have been telling people not to get him for a while. He will probably be rested, which should have happened earlier. He may rack up some cheap scores here and there but he has no fitness base and will not dominate a game this year. IMO.

i've got him in my dt team and its no coincidence that teams is doing a lot worse then my sc team which doesn't have him. the only way i'd get him is if he dropped to around 300k or so and came back from injury and i can straight swap petrenko to him

I actually ignore the 'underdone issue', more that I was betting against the market.....

However, this Hodge Injury has put in in a predicament.... I planned my team to have 6 premiums and 1 spot for Hodge...PURPOSELY LEFT A SPOT FOR THIS FELLA

Goddard, Fisher, Gilbee, Mattner, Cornes, Bowden (originally Scotland), Hill.

Hill was to be trade for Hodge in week 6, my prediction at the time (ie start of the year) was Hill would be say $250K and Hodge would be $500K and I would fork out $250k to get Hodge...

Now Hodge is cheaper, Hill is higher, which is great for me..except for the dilemma do I really want to get Hodge in my team??

I got 2 weeks to decide anyway as Hill is on fire and Hodge will be rested....I got other holes in my forward line anyway (Brown:thumbsd:, Houlihan:mad:)

NOT SURE WHAT TO DO NOW

i was speaking to two hawthorn supporters this morning and they were both adamant that it's osteitis pubis. I never believe anything until it comes from the team themselves but it has to be a massive worry.

Groin problems my ass!

He is out of shape. Lost his hunger. And cannot break his tag. Looks set to be 09's Heath Shaw. Stinks of an excuse for poor performance to me.

He was my favorite player last year and a weapon of my team. This year he is a stinking boat anchor and the worst pick I made for the year.

A big fat :thumbsd: :thumbsd: from me.

The problem is that Hodge and now Franklin both look like the could be great at any given moment.. just not now

57, crap start.. but so did other prems
83, ok.. getting better, crap start going upwards gaining fitness sweet
104, yep, hes hit 104, over 100, he's into playing the game now.. glad i ave him...
90, backwards step.. not great. but a bad game ok
115, yep.. getting back up to avover 100... a coiuple of bad games at the start, and a bad one last week but he's getting up over 100.. :)
79 ok crap.... slightly worrying but its the darkest before day break yeah?
45 WTF! absolute ******... he officially is in the walker department..

I had him and franklin form the start and there both idiots I have lost over 300k on these two alone. What doI do.. as soon as I get rid of him for drummond or someone, (and that would cost be caching) then I know hell get 180 points and go throught he roof... but if I keep him hell average 80

Haven't heard that but it makes sense and he's had problems with it in the past.

You can't believe anything Hawthorn say. The supporters are more reliable. The club has been telling us Gilham "will be back this week" for about a month.

Bad luck about the team, but GOLD COMMENT :thumbsu:

I have Walker the donkey, but I predict Walker will score 75+ this week [similar to Hill]. The Crows must know something I don't know as I have no idea how this donkey Walker gets a game and strangely is a starting player :confused:

Just have to wait with Hodgy...

Well I was planning to pick him up once his price dropped enough but now watching him play, I think I will stear clear.

I was gonna upgrade Houlihan to Hodge after I found out that Houlihan was dropped. I thought I would have the funds to do it by downgrading Hentschel to Macaffer but I accidently clicked on Walker and downgraded him instead! Doh! :o

As it turns out if I had of downgraded Hentschel to Macaffer then I would have fallen $18,000 short of a Houlihan to Hodge swap.

Glad I didn't have the funds for the upgrade, avoided a major bullet. :D

You should watch 'Sliding Doors' or 'The Butterfly Effect'...lol Not necessarily good movies...

I"m a bit annoyed now...The problem for me...if I jump on another keeper, regardless of what Hodge scores when he comes back, even if he scores 140+, I won't be trading to get him....as my backline will be full..

So I have to decide in 2 weeks whether I will have Hodge in my final team at the end of the year.....I don't break the Keeper to Keeper trade, unless they are not in the top 22 (ie Scotland --> Bowden trade ---> Funny enough now I think Scotland is back in the Top 22...ROFL..nevermind)....

If I choose Newman/Milburn/Lockyer etc etc as my 7th backman, Hodge won't be in my FINAL TEAM :confused: ....

Yeah had him from the start - paid the extra over Goddard because ironically I was scared of by the Goddard injury rumours before the first week.

I'm really thinking of letting him go - since I didn't end up trading GAJ, I guess I could use the trade. But it's frustrating - I loaded up in the backs bit more and throught I would have only one upgrade and possibly Houlihan. Need to decide whether it's worth keeping him on name value/potential. It may not be.

I'll wait for further injury reports.

i was thinking of off-loading him to a Waite, Newman or Mattner while he's still got some decent trade $ value

if it turns out he will be rested well there's my decision made

I think just because you planned pre-season to get him is not reason of itself to get him

So it looks like he'll be taking a rest :(

...while star defender Luke Hodge is in doubt for next week’s clash against Fremantle with an adductor strain.

Hodge started in defence but was well beaten by Angus Monfries and had to be moved forward. He ended with just 11 touches.

“We’re going to have to make a decision over the course of next week whether we keep him going or give him a rest,” Clarkson said.

“He’s tried over the best part of the month to carry the injury but he’s just been below his best.

“If Hodge didn’t play over the last two or three weeks we wouldn’t have had one of our premiership defenders playing in the side.

“He’s such a leader and he doesn’t want to miss games of footy.”

Gald I traded ablett this week..

Otherwise I could be facing next week 4 0's in the midfield (2 playgin) and 3 0's on the back line (houlihan, hodge, cheney, and possibly rance and suban.. but doubt those two wont play)

ATLEAST It gives me an excuse to trade him.. but how will he be when he comes back?

BAABAHHAHAHA I must have said this about 10 mins before Rance got hit and ended up not playing.. not surehow long.. wasn't watching match. (swans vs geelong instead)...

But seriously.. the offer still stands from the other thread...

MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE:

Level 1:
I will mention a players name during a match his playing, about a 20% chance the player will end up concussed.

Level 2:
I will put players into my team, hence causing there score to be lowered

Level 3:
I will make them captain, hence guarteeing a lowe than 80 score.

ALSO

Reverse:
I will take a player out of my side to guarentee high scores and an injury free season

and Reverse 2:
The selected player to playt well will be put onto my bench, this player will now preform extradinary feets, but only for one round..

Price's to be worked out

 I am truly jealous. I made the Houlihan to Hodge trade on Thursday and am absolutely loving the injury and 45 points that came with it  Shoulda got Newman...

I guess I will hang onto him now as no point wasting a trade. Ill just have to hope he comes good

Apparently the adductor is located somewhere between the left and right ventricle. I heard he strained it from the extra strain on his body from having to lug his fat ass around.
