Why wasnt he taken by GC? And where is he likely to land in the draft order?
I heard he tested for them and they passed on him.
Perhaps they had reservations with his shoulders, not sure.

Disappointment spurs teenager"It was disappointing," said Mitchell, "because you feel for a few minutes like you might not be good enough, like they've seen something in you they don't like. But at the same time, it was only ever going to be a bonus if they did decide to take me.
"I tried not to get my hopes up beforehand, and when it didn't happen I tried to think like it was a positive thing to get that close. It was good that they at least wanted me there, and they gave me a good list of things I had to work on. When you looked at it that way, it wasn't a bad week, it got me a bit closer to the AFL just by knowing what I had to improve. I was feeling pretty good at the start of the year, this year, because I had all these things I knew I had to get better at."
Disappointment spurs teenager"His running patterns in the forward line still need work but he's a great kick, a great mark and he's a real pest to the opposition with the blocking he does," said Allison. "He has a lot of improvement in him."
He was apparently at Tigerland today so it's unlikely that he'll go past the Tigers' pick 30Yes Ive read that he definately trialled with them. Seems one of the good tall prospects so Im wondering if he is a chance to get to Melbournes pick 32.
Does he have any weaknesses other than his shoulder injuries?

Shifter Sheehan hasn't rated Luke Mitchell in his top 30 either 'suprise'

be very interested if the tigers were looking at him with Reiwoldt and Griffiths ... adding Mitchell would make a very potent forwardline IMO (providing griffiths doesn't keep injuring himself)
would be sound recruiting
if he had played the entire season, he would have made VicM and if he had made VicM i would have put money on him being AA and probably being considered a top 10 draft pick
You dont think that shifter would of taken that into consideration !
Also suns didnt see him worthy of listing & gave him a load of reasons & things he needs to work on.
I'm not saying this will happen to luke but every year there are players considered to be mony's to get selected in the top 20-30 that get overlooked altogether & generally they are tall kpp such as Temel,Panos,Gourdis etc
You just never know.
The shoulder wasn't an issue back then was it? The injury happened in Feb this year.I heard he tested for them and they passed on him.
