I wonder who was the authorised referee to sign-off on the Stat Dec. They might be regretting their signature being on this document. The court should check their bank account 2 weeks either side of it being issued.Fantastic Simpsons reference.
Don't forget the potential for 'corrections' to be made.“Hey mate, before you commence your investigation into me, do you mind checking that the evidence to prove my innocence is sufficient?”
“Yeah sure, give me a second to look over it to make sure it will be enough to prove you are innocent of whatever it is I am going to investigate you for. Yep, no problems here. Looks good enough to me.”
Allegedly, of course.

There’s not really anything wrong with receiving the contents of the stat dec ahead of time. A bit like me needing one for a sick day at work, and sending the contents to the HR person beforehand as in “is this what you need”? Doesn’t mean I’m lying on it.
Don’t worry about optics - it’s not an Independent investigationThe optics are rotten when you are liaising with your “independent” investigator ahead of your final statement.
The question is why they (the AFL) felt the need to get involved in the first place. Was it really a matter they needed to "investigate".In years gone by, there would be 3-4 resignations handed it an AFL House already. The longer it goes without Sayers (and now more than likely the AFL chipping in) calling a halt the risk of more getting the arse increases including the CEO and possibly even the Chair. They’ve backed the wrong horse and the cover up is always worse than the crime.

When certain commissioners from certain clubs wanted investigations throttled about their clubJust try to even imagine some of the dodgy shit the AFL has made go away over the years.

And we need a Patsy... how about the missus? She's expendableTrade-off
You resign and distance yourself from the AFL publicly
We’ll “investigate” and find you did nothing wrong
Go quietly, the right way, and we’ll do what we can to salvage what is left of your reputation.
Nah its just a witness to say "Lukey boy signed this, todger in hand, on such-and-such a day". The witness is not implicated in the liars lies...if they lied.I wonder who was the authorised referee to sign-off on the Stat Dec. They might be regretting their signature being on this document. Don’t forget the gold trim for such an auspicious occasion.Maybe we could put something on a players jumper?
The head of the AFL integrity unit received a draft of Luke Sayers’ statutory declaration from his camp almost a week before a sworn version was submitted to the league as part of its “dick pic” investigation.
The bombshell revelation has cast serious new doubt over the legitimacy of the AFL probe that cleared Mr Sayers of wrong-doing in January last year.
It comes as his estranged wife Cate alleges the AFL colluded with the then Carlton president to help clear him of the scandal.
Who knew this Lemonhad so much juice in it. Can someone get me a larger bucket to catch it all.

We had AFL Ops folks visit us at least twice during that period including sitting in on our Monday morning "Ops" meetings.
Nah. He was outside the bubble (external media). The NFL restricted access to facilities, players, and staff heavily to avoid the likes of him.Mike Florio's name come up often as a PIA?
. We had Mark Davis (Raiders owner) on our floor (he is notoriously cheap and takes the comp room instead of paying for a suite) and every time you walked down the hall it sounded like he was interfering with farm animals.
